Till this date there still people looking for patches to install despite the fact the steam one is up to date on version already and I never understand that (specially since you aren't first one asking anyway).
But if something is broken you can always try using verify cache which will redownload any files if they are missing or corrupted.
I'm not on a pre-director's cut save. I had the patch installed and I played the game, when I thought it wasn't on (becasue of the card) I tried to uninstall it and reinstall it, but of course the card was still the same. So now the directors cut is installed, as it was when I started my game originally. My concern is that becasue I uninstalled it and reinstalled it the patch won't take effect on my previous save, even though I had it installed originally when I made the saved game.
How can you uninstall and reinstall a patch to a steam game? O.O
Steam always automatically updates a game to its latest along with directors edition cuts. There should be no reason ever to manually install patches.
It reads the "patch" as DLC, therefore you can install/uninstall as much as you like.
