Hair physics don't work as intended ?
I found a bug in my game on GOG with no fix as for now - basically when you jog (slow run) your hair is supposed to move smoothly as if the game has witcher 3 hairworks . See in the video at 12:04 for example : https://youtu.be/xyJp7Soi7go?list=PLj_Goi54wf0f2NXPeIvJqtLBSG9_nBTMM&t=724
in my game the hair barely moves and it feels like a downgrade....could you guys help ?

Geralt´s hair is very bugged, sometimes it can fly. If you don´t like this, you can use some hair/face retexture mods.

I'm not talking about textures though...his hair is supposed to flow from side to side as he moves just like in the above video

Even in this video (from 2009) you could see the physics work as intended : https://youtu.be/Em2hok6v6ig?t=144
Why are they static in my game ?

You never tell us what video card you have, and whether its drivers are up to date...

So for anyone who has this issue. It seems to me like a classical issue with older games. The physics simulation is done per frame, which is common, the problem arises when playing these old games with modern CPU/GPU and you can get 200 frames per second, for physics that was calibrated around 60 frames.

Usually this can amended by locking down the framerate to not surpass 60 frames per second. Unfortunately, the game does not have any such option on its own, but it's easily done with Nvidia Control Panel or AMD Catalyst Control Center (CCC). I locked my framerate to 60 (and enabled V-sync because I was having mad tears) and geralts hair has behaved a lot better after that.

Hope that helps anyone who finds this thread :)

It blows my mind that there are people who don't use VSync as a matter of course.

Guys: VSync doesn't just eliminate tearing -- it eliminates judder, as long as your framerate stays above your refresh rate.

If you don't use VSync, you may be getting a "good" framerate, but it will look like garbage, all juddery. With VSync enabled, the motion is completely smooth.

FreeSync/GSync attempts to do something similar, but I've never used it myself, and I don't think most people do either.

And no -- properly-coded VSync does notadd any significant latency. Yes, there are games with horrible VSync. That's not VSync's fault, that's the lazy console porter's fault.
