change perks?

i am blocked in the first chapter because i don't have the botanic perks and i can't find a pnj who sells the item i need. is there a way to change my perks?

White myrtle petals. Generally speaking, in Witcher 1, you need to learn about monsters, to extract parts you need from them ( ghoul blood, graveir bone, etc.), and about plants you need to extract. To do that you need to read books. After reading, information about them will automatically be known to Geralt and then you will be able to extract the items you need. Or you can buy them, but I advise you to read the books. Books most of the time, when you don´t stumble upon them, need to be bought.

Also, there is a skill perk that you can get ( in Intelligence section ) that lets you be knowledgeable about certain plants and monsters.

Outside the Inn there is an Viziman herbalist who sells this item.

You don't need the Intelligence perk for it.

Doesn't the witch tell you about them if you keep talking to her, thus creating the journal entry you need to harvest them? <- This one I'm not 100% sure about. (If not, she sells the book you need for it.)

But, by giving food to various old women in the Outskirts, one will tell you about the petals.

Also, there is a book called Field Plants sold by Viziman (the trader outside the inn) that tells you about white myrtle (and several other plants). The book is also (I think) available from the antiquary inside the inn. (But I stress, it's possible to get the entry for free by feeding old women in the Outskirts.)

i already bought and read the book from the witch but i can harvest plant. I will just try again.
