There's a certain breed of rpg that is just filled with hotketys, or screen menus, and other things that the only thing that really works is M/K. Like diablo, ever played diablo1 on PSX? Yea it was extremely awkward.
If you tried kotor1 or 2 with a controller which they support you might get an idea of what I mean, its not any better. Just my opinion of course I understand how you feel OP as I prefer controller for most games but there are a few kinda games out there where it just limits everything. Witchers one of them.
You might be able to find some programs online that change the mouse and keyboard mappings to controller, I tried them before for a few games that were awkward with M/K but I couldn't really figure it out.
