Keep books after reading?
Do I need to hang onto books and scrolls after I read them?

I've thrown mine away, cant sell them or anything and since after reading most stuff gets added to your bestiary/journal, then I dont see a need as to why you absolutely need it.

Thanks. I couldn't see why I would need them after it gets added to the journal either. Time to clear out some inventory.

Hi. You can sell them. There's a dwarf merchant in Vizima called the Antiquarian. He's on the street of merchants above Shani's house. He's got good books for sale, if you're rich and/or in a hurry to know more and he will buy.

(EDIT) He's not always there. It's a little stand in a corner, as I recall.
Have fun!
:)

Sell them back to whoever buys books (Antiquarians, Booksellers, and Julian. Endgame Blacksmiths seem to buy almost everything, too). If you manage to get one special book you can't sell, you can gift it to someone for a ring to make your life slightly easier in Chapter 2. Haven't been able to sell contracts, so those I throw in storage.

Note that the Dwarven Antiquarian opens at 9am (he sleeps in later than the other merchants), and the Trade Quarter Bookseller is very easily lost during rain, due to how far away he runs sometimes.

Keep them. You can stop and read them any time you want. If you get rid of them you have no choice.

You don't have much use of money in the game after act 2 (unless you're very much into alchemy and make ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of potions).

I'd keep the books and enjoy reading them if I were you.

There's also the antiquary in the Chapter with the Barghests at the inn, but he isn't always there, and he doesn't take very much for them. You might be better off stacking Barghest skulls to sell.

Please don't spread misinformation. There is too much online as it is. You can sell these books, don't tell people they can't. There is a vendor that buys them, as other comments have pointed out.
