Σίγουρα δεν φαίνεται να υπάρχει ετυμολογία για τη λέξη αυτή

Εγώ πιστεύω πως άρχισαν από τη λέξη "Αποθέωση" (μάλιστα, υπάρχει και σχετικό achievement, ένα από τα πιο δύσκολα) και επινόησαν μία λέξη που:

(α) να ακούγεται ωραία στα αγγλικά,
(β) να φαίνεται ελληνική και
(γ) να προσδιορίζει "αυτόν που αποθεώνεται" ή "αυτόν που επιδιώκει την αποθέωση".

Apotheon is an English word, backformed from Greek 'apotheosis".In English, it denotes one who is exalted or elevated to a state of godhood. I don't know how it was coined, but it certainly is legitimate English word on its own.

I have the Liddel-Scott Lexicon of Ancient Greek and it states that απόθεος (apotheos) means the one who does not respect the gods, the godless,

So, this definition has the element of opposition to an existing pantheon... In contrast to the previously proposed definition of seeking to, or simply, becoming a god.

In Apotheon, you kinda mess with the gods (defy them), but I am not sure if you will eventually overthrow them to become one yourself. I'll have to beat the game for that, so NO SPOILERS please :)

For those who ask, the title says WHAT DOES APOTHON MEANS?
My answer would be the noun Apotheosis (Αποθέωσις) means deification (making into a god) http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/apotheosis , so Apotheon (Αποθεών) means the one who became a god. There is an achievement in the game called Apotheosis, one of the most difficult to obtain, the description of which is "Acquire the powers from all twelve Olympian Gods" (So becoming a god yourself).
