LAN or WAN coop
Does the luddite have any plans to make the game net-aware? How likely is this to be added during the next year?

One of our concerns with making the coop playable over networks, is that even the slightest bit of lag will really effect gameplay. However, it is something we have looked into, but most likely won't happen in the near future.

That makes a lot of sense. The game looks very interesting in any case and I'll be sure to buy. Thanks for the explanation!

Howdy, luddite here. :) I would liked to have added this, but because the physics engine (and thus the game) runs at a constant 60fps, getting it to tolerate lag would take a lot of work. I'd imagine it could be done to some extent but I'm the only developer on the project and I haven't really done much network code before, so I would have been throwing myself in at the deep end and it would probably have failed miserably. Also, some of the levels require quite fine coordination, and my suspicion is that even a half second of voice chat delay, even if the game didn't lag at all, would make things virtually impossible. That all being said, it's not impossible that it will be added at some point in the future... probably not soon, though.

Is there a particular reason this game is so, well, abandoned? It hasn't taken part in a Steam sale in a long time; there are threads asking for tech support, even threads where users simply want the ability to buy the game, but can't because there is no price added in the back-end for their currency.

My personal guess, while pretty much just based on fantasy and empathy, is that the developer was disappointed with how the game was received and cut their ties and losses. Which is sad but makes sense; even hardcore old-school gamers with plenty taste, or so I thought, rejected this game when I tried to make it palatable to them, to the best of my ability.

I don't expect anything to happen to this game, on Steam or elsewhere, ever again. A great game with a tiny audience and no maintainer.
