On a side note I find Robin (and sometimes Catwoman) to be slower than Batman because while they are fast, many of their animations involve them faffing about. Their initial counter animations can take a long time. Batman is possibly objectively the best as he has disarm/destroy (very important for Penguin's VIP room challenge) and the widest variety of gadgets.
The games -like it or lump it- are about Batman. Better get used to him. There is a mod for switching Batman out with the others (even with his initial Bruce Wayne style), but you'll have to use him for critical parts anyway.
Well I am more agressive with them. So I never use the counter attack. Yes I know about the mod. I was enjoying the game tells it breaks because I need batman to move on. Leaving me sad.
I see. Out of curiousity, have you ever tried playing on hard mode, or playing challenges in Arkham CIty with the "Increased aggression" and "One hand tied" (no counter symbols) modifiers? Normal does tend to let you get away with quite a lot.
Not knocking you if you haven't; it's not a competitive game and it can be somewhat stressful at times. And you can still just use redirect anyway, which Rocksteady should really find a way to discourage or punish for over-relying on it.
No not mod, mode. When you start a new game you pick the difficulty level (easy, normal or hard). The "modifiers" are built into the game is you select custom challenges or campaign challenges (some make it harder, such as no counter symbols, some make it easier by letting you punch through anything).
The redirect is when you dodge towards someone and jump over them. It's the move you do to attack anyone using a taser stick.
True to the GTAV formula, when I am not doing the main mission, let me do -OTHER STUFF- with -OTHER CHARACTERS-
Praying for Nightwing to be big in this one. The Harley Quinn DLC takes place IN the Bludhaven PD. So he SHOULD be in on the action, moreso than robin or Catty
If Nightwing could perform Disarm/Destroy he could arguably be the best character (for combat at least). Only thing Bats would have on him then is Freeze grenades and the REC (which Nightwing can emulate better with invincibility time).
If not during the main story, they should at least allow for free roaming after the campaign. Hell, if Bruce does die we may have to.
I don't understand why everyone assumes that you won't be able to freeroam as Batman if he dies in the story. They could just do a classic video game thing that takes you back to right before you fight the final boss, or they could just ignore the continuity and let you do it anyway.
They could do those, but the first method would cut out going through Gotham and surveying the aftermath, and the second method would be a glaring inconsistency that may also lessen the impact. What better way to drive the point home than having Batman be totally inaccessible?
I suppose, but from a gameplay perspective locking out the character would just be annoying.
I do not know. I would not mind a game in the arkham world that did not evolve around batman. Playing as one of the 3 other characters. Seeing how much the city is falling apart with out him. Sounds like it would be a lot of fun and chaotic.
Interesting idea, but not for this game. This is a Batman game, and making you unable to play as him in his own video game would just be stupid.
Not saying for this game. I was just adding on the idea if batman should die in an arkham game. How the next game would play out.
