Arkham Knight Rated M
http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/02/24/batman-arkham-knight-is-rated-m
I don't know how I feel about this.
Edit: The ESRB has listed the reasons to the M rating on their site.
The reasons are:
Blood
Language
Suggestive Themes
Violence

Why are so many people looking forward to sex scenes

There aren't going to be sex scenes... what are you talking about?

Yeah, very excited for this.

I like how they don't compromise their vision due the rating board. I'm somewhat surprised that the previous games only received Teen rating.

Absolutely! Make the game the way they think it should be made. I'll be pre-ordering the biggest version they make. :D

I'm curious as to why it is rated M. You never kill anyone in the previous games, and while people still died you usually just see corpses. The deaths you do see are PG-13 at the worse. The cussing is PG. Poison Ivy, Harley, and Catwoman do have some revealing clothes, but again, no worse than what you see in a PG-13 movie.

Only thing I can think of is the story gets so heavy and dark that it can be rather disturbing for kids, even if the the violence, swearing, and sexual themes are PG-13 at the most.

M rating? Dis gun b gud! I hope they drop the "F" bomb. And I hope they don't have any sex scenes, because Batman doesn't need those for a succesful game.

I would die to see a Harley Quinn sex scene.

Based on the interview IGN didi with Sefton Hill, it seems that the game got an M rating because of a scene or scenes in the story that ESRB just thought were too violent or disturbing to fit in a T game. Sefton Hill indicated that gameplay-wise the game would still be about the level as the previous games in terms of content, so it is probably story related. However, the game only got an M rating in Australia (which is what the previous Arkham games got) and not MA15 or R18 so you would think that whatever is shown couldn't be too over the top, especially since Australia is known for being pretty strict with their ratings.

If the main content is no worse than the other games I'm guessing it is a torture scene or harsh death scene that puts it over the edge.

It'll probably be one of those "if this was a movie it'd only be PG-13" games like Halo and the first Mass Effect.

Either that or the Red Hood story pack has some stuff in it that is more violent than the previous games.

Cussing is definetly pushing an R, frequent uses of a**, b**h, and he**, not to mention less frequent uses of just about everything but s**t, f**k, sexual cussing and racial slurs.

At the most the cussing is PG-13. Even PG movies can have uses of the S word. Only when a movie uses more than one (though I've seen a couple PG-13 movies use it twice) F-bombs is when it is pushed into an R rating for cussing. Heck, even TV is letting the S word slide. I've seen TV-14 shows allow it.

I'll probably have to elaborate. The words themselves aren't the worst out there, b***h probably being the worst, but the words that are there are used pretty requently, especially b***h, which is used extremely often, especially in the Catwoman DLC for Arkham City.
