Well, it say it in the article: "The new project is years away" - and haven't we heard this so many times? And then the project gets delayed, canceled or turns into that ultra-successfull Rocksteady suicide game.
So let's just wait and see. I'll get excited when there's reason to... ;)
I think it can’t be another Arkham game though. How about a game tied into Matt Reeves The Batman crime saga?
Or how about a Batman Beyond game?
If I remeber correctly, there's still plenty of room for Arkham Batman to return.
If I was it(the BAT), I would have blamed HUSH for all BATMAN-BRUCE WAYNE sightings. Hush was never apprehended to the police. Where did he go?

Maybe, years from now,
Bruce Wayne : It was all a lie, mischiefs of a so called serial killer known as Thomas Elliot to defame me and my family's name. The BATMAN unmasked that day, by SCARECROW was really Thomas Elliot. And at the end, "this is how BATMAN died", so that people won't be able to question him anymore.
Or,
Bruce Wayne : I am Bruce Wayne, unmasked as the BATMAN, I "returns" to Gotham. Plain and simple as that.

I'll be happy if they can create a character that is worthwhile as the Arkham BAT himself. They destroyed the character with SSKTJL.

Gloryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy....................

There’s room narratively speaking but a new design aesthetic is needed i think. Something fresh and exciting.

Isn't Arkham Shadow already the new Batman game they had in development?

The problem with Reeves' "crime saga" Batman universe is that it doesn't need Batman.

Indeed, it's MUCH better without him. Like, to a ridiculous degree. And TERRIBLE with him.

Beyond would be great. Even if they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up, or certain ♥♥♥♥♥♥ people looked at minor details and freaked out, then whined that they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up, well then, ♥♥♥♥, it's a dystopian future, anyway. Right? I mean, it's SUPPOSED to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up! That's the point!:steamhappy:

Of course, it'd be more of a "Batman Now", since we're living in that dystopian future.

Arkham Shadow was made by a different developer and is exclusive to the Meta Quest 3.

I have to disagree about The Batman, i thought the movie was awesome and since the movie takes place in the second year of Bruce Wayne’s war on crime and Joker is already in Arkham, a prequel game seems lime a good idea, wouldn’t you say?

Retcon Suicide Squad and forget that it exists
Make Batman Arkham Origins 2 anyway, where Batman, Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing, and Catwoman are all playable and properly integrated into the main game. All the best missions here are where you get to play as other characters and utilize that dual play gimmick. I'd trade batmobile and battank in a heartbeat for more fully playable characters with a functional amount of gadgets and moves and missions designed for them. Catwoman missions in Arkham City were fun too. Honestly I felt betrayed after beating those Riddler missions and not getting her playable in freeroam.

A game these days takes five to eight years to developp. It's a massive gamble to link it to a Cinematic Universe that may or may not be around when the game is ready. If The Batman 2 flops for whatever reason (in a time where most comic related movies have a tendency to flop!), this game is also toast.
Btw. I fell asleep in Cinema watching "The Batman" - and it is not often that I fall asleep in Cinema... ;) That movie is much too long and takes itself much too serious - without the proper substance to really fill three hours. This is not The Godfather! Even Dark Knight was half an hour shorter - and it had substance in spades. Comics are colourfull, short episodic stuff (a book is usually 24 pages), imho in film still best represented by twenty or so minutes cartoons. One can clearly overdo dark and bombastic. Then it turns just hollow and bleak... Have a look at Batman vs. Supermnan (also shorter than The Batman!) and how it collapsed the then still promising Snyder verse.

A proper coop game would be fantastic. Not live service, but a proper narrative adventure designed for 2 players. Keep it tight.

I organised a watch party at an IMAX cinema. We booked an entire row, everyone throughly enjoyed the movie and The Penguin HBO show was equally excellent. I feel confident that the Batman will be around for many more years to come. The Batman Part II is set for an October 2027 release and a third movie after that is planned, not to mention a second season of The Penguin and another spin off show in development.

IIRC correctly it was initially scheduled for 2025 and was already postponed to 2027 - which MIGHT indicate not totally smooth sailing for the production. And Wikipedia says "Reeves said the GCPD series was on indefinite hold".
But I really don't want to rain on your parade - as said above: I'll get excited when there is reason to. This does not only go for comic based games but also movies. And as far as DC movies are concerned, there's not much around atm to be excited about...

Your information is outdated a slightly wrong.
The GCPD show was the indeed cancelled, but following the enormous success of The Penguin a second season is being worked on plus a new spin off — the subject matter not having been disclosed at this time; are still workshopping ideas.

The Batman Part II has been delayed twice, a year each time. The first time was as a result of the writers strikes, the second time as a result of a personal problem in writer/Director Matt Reeves life.
Matt is a perfectionist and neither him nor James Gunn will begin production on a movie without a high quality finished script. Frankly, I’m encouraged to see a movie studio focus on quality instead of release dates for a change.
