I wonder if it will eventually come to other VR headsets?🤔
VR is what makes the game special though. You don’t play as Batman, you ARE Batman.
Sorry to hear that.😔 My friend has the same issue and can’t play the game either and it’s depressed him.
It's a bit like 3D Cinema. Whenever it is obvious, it is rather distracting. And when it is not obvious, then what's the point?
Question however about the game: how long/complex is it? We had this other Arkham VR game, that was more like a demo of maybe half an hour max. Is this a "proper" game comparamble to the other Arkhams? Does it last ten hours?
I’m currently 41% through the story. I’ve been playing for 11 hrs.
It’s a full AAA game experience like Half-Life Alyx. Everything you do in a mainline Arkham game you do here such as experiencing a complete meaty storyline, puzzles/collectibles, tech and suit upgrades, predator challenge rooms and combat challenges.
I haven’t touched the challenges yet, not sure if I will. I really just tend to enjoy the storylines in the Arkham games.
Playing games like Half-Life and Batman in VR just makes the games so much more immersive. When I first loaded the game and I stood outside at night, watching the clouds slowly roll past overhead and I saw the buildings of Gotham tower up around me I was absolutely blown away.
I haven’t felt like this since I made the jump for 2D (Super Nintendo) to 3D (PS1) as a kid. It’s a monumental shift in gaming. It’s just a shame that entry level is so high for people.
VR is still in its infancy, like 3D was with the PS1.
Might work, if enough people fall for it. And releasing a proper Arkham game sure is not the worst idea to sell hardware.
But if it flops it's talent wasted - and I have my doubts this game will be (still even possible to be) played in the same way in 15 or so years as the other "classic" Arkhams are played today. If the hardware is discontinued and broken, the game is dead. Pity! :(
Btw. thanks for the update regarding complexity! :)
I checked my achievements for the game. The one that has the highest player unlock in my list occurs right at the beginning of the story and is one i would think is pretty much unmissable. It’s for discovering one of many collectibles and just over 300K people have earned it.
Gives us an indication of the sales numbers.
The earliest unmissable story based achievement is just over 90K.
