I do think a few other VAs did a good job as well. Not as good but good.
Bruce Greenwood had a good performance in Under the Red Hood, and I liked Rino Romano's Bruce Wayne in The Batman (cartoon). Then there was Roger Craig Smith in Arkham Origins--he had a line or two that flopped but I felt like on the whole he sounded the part remarkably well.
Anyway, while I do think there are other good options out there going forward, I agree. Kevin Conroy is slated to remain unrivaled for a long time.
somethign that other actors, like christian bale didn't understand.
edit : edit, also mark hamill is the definitive Joker , in my mind.
yeah, i hated heath ledger joker at first, but i have come to respect his version.
looking back, jack nicholson was actually not bad. when i watch his other films, now i can't help but see Joker face. .
i haven't watched joaquin pheonix joker yet.
i expect everyone can agree that jared leto is the worst one.
and caesar romero is just in a class all by himself, dunno where to put him.
but sorry, this is about the voice of batman, which i'm sorry to hear about it literally 20 minutes ago
Unfortunately he stopped doing that after the original Batman TAS. In the New Batman Adventures, the Justice League shows, and the Arkham games he spoke with the same monotone Batman voice whether or not he was in costume or in the board room.
RIP legend.
I don't really remember much Bruce dialog in the Arkham games, but it's been a while since my last playthrough.
Who said anything about that? I was talking about Kevin Conroy. The Batman character is pretty much dead without him.
Bit of an exaggeration. Plenty of men have portrayed Batman over the near-century since his inception. Greenwood was a better Batman imo.
You know who should be given a chance for the role? Will Friedle.
I'd like to hear his take on Bruce Wayne/Batman played straight. Kevin Conroy mentored him during production of Batman Beyond and if you listen to the series, he has the same voice change for Terry McGinnis/Batman.
Not looking for a voice replication or anything, but somebody cast him in a DC animated adaptation sometime as Bruce.
