Windows 10 - How to fix errors/crashing
My game was running great on windows 8(As good as it could run in it's current state) but when I upgraded to Windows 10, the game was crashing every 5-10 minutes and other games were crashing too.

Here's what I did, I hope it helps you guys out too.

1. Change Physx device to your GPU. (Change it with Nvidia Control panel)
2. Run Steam as Admin
3. Run Game as Admin
4. Run Game in Win 8 compatibility mode (Optional but I am using it)

I have not had a single crash since then and I have seen a performance gain as well. I have seen more of the stable 60FPS as compared to Windows 8. In Win 8, it used to dro`1p to mid 30s randomly when I was gliding around and game also stuttered/paused whenever I used a quickfire batarang(so annoying)

In Win 10, after doing those 3 things - the FPS sometimes drops to 47-48 and there is no stuttering/pausing whenever I quickfire a gadget.

I am not using any of the Nvidia gameworks as they tend to crash the game and performance declines as well.

Note - Steam will not start automatically when computer starts if you are running it as admin.

I have i7-3770k, GTX 980 and 16 GB or Ram.

After my Win 10 upgrade too, my game crashes as soon as gameplay starts.

Where do I change my Physx device? I will try your other suggestions too. Thanks

In the Nvidia Control panel or it's AMD equivalent. Sorry, should have made that clear.

AMD uses Catalyst control center but it cant change your physx device as AMD cards can't use it

Great thank you!

If you had the startup logos disabled (by renaming the file, etc.) your game may not load. You can use "-nologo" as a startup switch instead.

Disable SLI, use just one card for the game and the other for Physx.

So far so good thank you! I didn't bother running the PC Performance test either. Not sure if the admin modes worked, or manually selected PhysX device. I will revert each one back and find out. Thanks!!

holy necro batman. You could have googled to find out how to do this instead of resurrecting a dead thread.

My game keeps craching, i´ve got nvidia gtx 980M, everything was ok, i was able to play 9 hours since i bought the game, but after metting with the flying doctor, it keeps crashing randomly now that i run everything as admin

I'm having the same issue as JosEduardo except mine's been crashing at random intervals since I started playing a week ago. I'm halfway through the story and each play is a rush to get as much done as possible. I'm on WIn 8.1 Pro.

The game will run fine but the longer I play (maybe 35 mins) I'll notice that the game will start loading backdrops slower and slower. Slight stuttering will occur during gliding or fast driving. Basically whenever I transition quickly this stuff will happen (car chases are always fun because it'll sometimes crash right before the last shot). Then the Windows "close application" screen. The strange thing is I'll get it twice. The first time it closes the screen but I can still hear it. The second "close application" screen stops the sound.

I've already done a GPU fur test. Passed exceptionally well. I'm using normal graphics, FYI.

Every once in awhile I get a screen pop up with a bunch of coding (after/during the crash), but it makes no since to me as I'm not savvy on software (if it is coding). I showed it to my professional IT buddy and he couldn't help either.

There is a topic here in the forums about a fix for Windows 10's RAM problem. Kaldaien made it and it's gotten good feedback. Look it up.
