Riddler trial #9 (to save Catwoman)
Who else thought this was the single most frustrating point in the game? Especially the third lap? I failed the third lap at least twenty times and when I finally succeeded, I had less than half a second to spare. I guess I just suck with the Batmobile when it doesn't involve shooting, lol.

Before playing this part of the game, the only time I ever felt so much grief in a single player game was in Assassin's Creed 2 when I had to do a lot of "advanced wall jumps" to unlock some puzzle. I wanted to put my fist through the monitor at the time...

Btw I play with an Xbox 360 wired controller, as I have done for the previous 3 games in the series.

Anyway, I've finished 93% of the game - just have the Riddler and APC challenges left. Great game overall, shame about the PC performance issues but I toned down the settings a bit and didn't allow the graphics to bother me. Hopefully the eventual patches will let me play the game it was meant to be played...

How did you get by it? I'm still stuck on the 3rd lap and I never want to play this game again

That third lap is a nightmare I'm so terrible at it I spent like 30 minutes trying it just on fuken principle

Is that the one where you have to dodge the barriers while driving sideways across a wall?

If so, I'm not sure if it will help, but if you ever want to try that track again (I'm sure you won't now that you've beat it), I found that changing the camera into first person mode (RB a few times I believe?) seemed to help during that section of the track.

There's also little green arrows painted on the wall showing you a path to follow towards the first barrier. If you manage your acceleration and braking to follow the line exactly, and stay as close to the bottom of the last barrier as possible, you can make it cleanly, almost every time.

I'm gonna sound arrogant, but it's not my intention. Before start reading discussions (I finished the game first, to avoid spoilers) I was pretty disappointed because Riddlers races were so easy, I failed 1 time en in the first of all, and 2 times in the last one and that it is. And dude, I absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ suck in race games. Then I came here and saw this posts about what hard it is and I find funny how things work. Probably there was parts in the game that I hated it and found hard as ♥♥♥♥ and a lot of people passed it easily

I got to it, but when Riddler asked me to go to some train station or something, I wasn't in the mood for it so I went back to trying to find out who kidnapped the Oracle.

Well, I really wanted to save Catwoman, so perseverance :)

Where I failed most in the 3rd lap was at the part where you have to drive up a wall and avoid two static barriers. Tip: Do not engage the rocket boost when you first drive up the wall. Drive normally past the first barrier, then tilt your analog stick left a bit until you have a clear shot past the second barrier, then hit the rocket boost!

I hate the Riddler races. Love to finally beat them, but hate timed-trial anythings. Only took a dozen hundred attempts to beat the Mental Blocked one, while I was getting the hang of the wonkymobile. I kept flying all over the place bouncing off crap that I couldn't see and go flying into the water constantly.

Once the game got patched, things got a lot easier. Only took a couple of attempts, maybe 3 or 4 for some of the harder ones. After I got used to how the thing handled, it wasn't so bad I guess. Just seemed to take a long time to get used to it...

I have only did the Mental Blocked race, which was hard enough LOLs. Best time is 35.54 seconds. I can't imagine what the later ones would be like.

If it's the REC (Remote Electrical Charge) gun, it's in GCPD Evidence Room. Go all the way to the back room, where Anarky's and Electrocutioner's crap is - it should be in between those two.

Believe it or not, most of the racing challenges are easier in first person view... The game even seems a little more forgiving of narrow spaces in this mode but that could be my imagination. Anyway, this is what got that Condamned 3rd lap finished for me without too much difficulty. Try it.

I found the Riddler trials the single most enjoyable thing. I wanted more of them so bad.

I also wanted to become the joker and hang out with harley, o well.

Use first-person mode for any race events in the game. It's much easier to tell what will happen when you're driving on a wall or ceiling and I'm somewhat sure the performance improves since the car isn't being rendered.

I think Riddler should have ditched the trophies and had many more races and cognitive challenges with the Batmobile. As much as I like the car, it would have been less overused if Riddler was one of the few things the Batmobile was used for. It would have been cool for a final race to be Batmobile vs whatever monstrosity Riddler could cobble together.

This one frustrated the snot out of me too until I switched the camera to 1st person view and avoided the afterburner while driving on the final wall, otherwise you're going too fast to maneuver around the pistons trying to crush you.
