3D Vision now works!
Since the update and the new GeForce Game Ready Driver 353.30 today, 3d Vision works. It looks beautiful!!!

BUT, now the low framerates which I had before the update in normal mode are now present in the 3D Vision mode. Thank you a lot for this patch and the added 3D Vision support! But please patch it a little more until 3D Vision mode only consumes half the framerate like in other games.

Question for you. I have a 3D Vision monitor but I don't have the glasses. Is it worth the price?

Whoa, wait a minute... it consumes half the framerate? I think I just answered my own question.

At the moment, it isn't really fun to play Arkham Knight with 3D Vision because the game still needs a lot of performance fixing. But for Arkham Asylum, Arkham City and Arkham Origins it is definitely worth the price in my opinion.

You can modify the depth and convergence (extra option, I explain it right away), that means, you can adjust the 3D effect to your needs. In 3D cinemas, you can't do that and the depth is set to something almost everyone can handle. With 3D Vision you can also watch 3D Blurays, but as in the cinema you can't adjust the depth and convergence there, because it is baked into the film.

If you want to get the most out of 3D Vision for games I strongly recommend to turn on the additional hot keys (CTRL + F5 and CTRL + F6) in the nvidia control panel. With these you can increase and decrease the convergence, which means that the objects move towards you, out of the screen that is. I really love it, because when you play Batman with this setup and you run away from the camera, his cape seams to flutter out of the screen. Some times I play with this illusion, by trying to grab objects which seem to be out of the screen, with my hand. It feels weird when your brain realizes, that the object isn't there. ^^

I play with the ASUS VG278. It is 3D Vision Ready and has the NVIDIA 3D LightBoost, which is really handy, because the shutter glasses consume light from the monitor and the LightBoost compensates that. I have the 3D Vision 2 Kit. Before that I had the version 1 and an Acer monitor without LightBoost, so I can confirm, that the version 2 + LightBoost is a real advantage. But I also played with a Samsung and Phillips 3D TV Screen via nvidia 3DTV Play. Due to the bigger size of the screen, it was even cooler.

Some games work really good, like the Batman Arkham series, Thief 1 and 2 and 4 (didn't try 3), StarCraft 2 and Trine 1 and 2 (really astonishing in 3D Vision!!!) but most games just don't work or are unsatisfactory due to nasty rendering bugs. And if your PC can't handle the game by reduced framerates to the half, it isn't an option anyway.

I just love love love it. I played all three Batman Arkham games with it and it wouldn't be so damn cool without it. Also playing other games with it was a great experience and I can't get enough of it. Maybe sometime it is also possible to play in 3D with 4K screens. I can't wait!^^

Thanks, appreciate the detailed reply. I really like 3D in films, my wife and I always go for 3D at the cinema if available and we have a 3D TV (not nearly enough content available) but I've never tried 3D gaming.

I agree with Garrett, if your system can handle it, do it! I have had 3- Asus VG278HE 3D monitors, and was on the fence same as you for a year, finally got the glasses at the price I wanted, and could kick myself for not getting it sooner. Racing games like Assetto Corse, Grid Autosport, Iracing etc... are amazing in 3D as well. It is really nice being able to judge depth for how close you are to your opponents. It makes any game much more immersive if it supports 3D Vision. I personally can't wait for all these new VR headsets to hit the market. :)

I do have a 1080p 3D monitor lying around to give this a try. Is the 3D flawless?
FastGarrett 2015 年 6 月 28 日 上午 3:40
There is a little flaw with the so called "ghosting". Sections in the image with too high contrast appear in both eyes and that's why you see them twice. With the 3D Vision 2 Kit and the LightBoost, it is less of a problem. If you don't pay attention to it, you don't see it. Even in the version 2, you can see it, when you pay attention.

If you think 3D in films is good, you'll be blown away with 3D Vision. It's vastly superior mainly due to the 60fps per eye. Things can appear as solid as a real object.

That's awesome to hear about the 3D Vision. Was really disappointed when it was missing but gave up hope after the problems with even the game itself.

Just to let you guys know - but Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate is also 3D Vision despite no mention of it. The only thing is the map that comes up is broken (have to turn off 3D to consult it) but the game itself works flawlessly and is absolutely brilliant in 3D.

Well, I have a good system, I just need another 970 for SLI and I think I'll be ok. I bet this game and GTA V would be great in 3D. My monitor is the Acer 27" 144hz Gsync. I love it.

Let me guess, 3D and Gsync at the same time not possible? I don't care much for ULMB.

I wish that Nvidia would hurry up and fix Gsync+DSR+SLI so that when I get my 2nd 970, I won't need to choose between Gsync and DSR.

My TV is 240hz but of course that's not per eye and it's passive 3D.

Yep, unfortunately Gsync and 3Dvision don't work together.

Yeah 3D Vision is 120hz but true 60fps per eye and Active 3D. It's thoroughly worth it. Some games in 3D Vision transform it into another game entirely. It's another step above 3DTVs and even cinema 3D.

yep it just eat half the frame rate. Gonna wait for the next patch before using it but thanks for letting us know, 3D gaming rock. Dishonored, Mirror's Edge, Bioshock Infinite are entirely different games when you play them like that, same for racing games in general.

hell even Remember Me
