Are special combo gadgets broken?
I unlocked the special combo batarang and batclaw. It says during combat to hold 1 or 2 when the combo meter is full, but literally nothing happens. Is this broken?

According to manual. It says Alt+1 and then there is 2, 3 & 4

Yes they are. Every single one. Some are used even by just clicking while some can't be used at all. I know that Batarang and Batclaw don't work at all.

Atleast on Keyboard and Mouse.

I've tried everything but it doesn't work.

That's for special combos, not for gadget combos.

Bump.

Anyone figured out how to get this to work with Keyboard. Batman keeps doing regular quickfire gadgets instead of the combo gadgets.

It's working for me & I use keyboard and mouse for combat parts, unless its suppose to be doing something different than it does for me though, all it does for me is the same it did on City & Origins, the freeflow gadget combo where the gadgets have a wider area of effect

Yeah i was thinking the same thing. For the batarang special combo, if you check the skill video in the upgrades menu...you see that the batarangs explode while making contact. When i do them in game, i get the 3 batarangs but not the explosions.

For the batclaw combo i cant even perform it...

im using k&m...

I can confirm that the Special Combo Explosive Gel is working with both Keyboard and Controller.

I can also confirm that Special Combo Batarang and Special Combo Batclaw are NOT working with keyboard but are working with the controller.

And the bugs keep on pilling up.

I figured it out. Keep the gadget keys to default and, for example, if you're trying to do the special batclaw move, start holding down 2 while you're in the middle of a counter/hit animation. As soon as the animation finishes, the combo will trigger.

Oh so it's hold down the quickfire button then?
Mine has just always told me to press [UNASSIGNED] or some unhelpful nonsense and I couldn't find the exact control prompt in the options.
Cheers, will give this a go then.

These bugs are par for the course for the Arkham series though. That doesn't make it OK but people really need to learn they are not ment to be played with a mouse and keyboard. So if you insist on doing so you are going to be plauged by stuff that doesn't work.

Heck the final sequence with the Joker in Origins could not be completed at all with a mouse and keyboard without editing the game files. Not sure if they ever patched it but at release you litterally could not finish the game.

^ Been playing these and all third person 'action' games with mouse and keyboard since forever.
Can't stand controllers at all and find these things harder to play on them, don't quite understand the people who are saying that you 'need' them for this and others of the similar genre since it's all just personal preference.

I pre-ordered Origins and beat that fine, never heard of this end game bug, I guess it's possible it was fixed before I got there or something..

I'm sure other games work just gine with a mouse and keyboard. I use them for the SR series but not GTA, seems odd but its what I'm used to so I get what you're saying. But the Arkham series has always had issues when not using a controller. Not always a game breaking bug but I remember wanting to cut my wrists trying to dodge Croc jumping out of the water in Asylum using a mouse and keyboard.

As for the bug with Origins:

These forums are also filled with people running into multiple bugs with mouse and keyboard inputs for Knight. Also all of the necessary combos and various dodging during fights is designed around using a controller. So while it may be possible to do without a controller its going to require more work to do it.

Quite bizarre, my steam achievements have me finishing the game in Novemeber, yet those complaints are generally being posted after that in December some time, I suppose a *later* patch may have broken it after the fact? Hmm interesting that I've never heard of it or no-one I knew on K+M experienced it either.

Then again I never got a single other problem or crash or gamebreaking bug in Origins either, which always had me confused even to this day at why everyone bags so much on it.
