This game is perfectly playable at 30 FPS.
Optimization aside, I really cannot call this a horrible port like some of you because of a few things.

- zero mouse lag, if you unlock FPS limit and turn off vsync, it almost feels like raw mouse input. Konami/Capcom take note.

- the game does not lag at 30 FPS.

Now before some of you start crying peasant, I am being completely serious. Yes, obviously it would nice if I could run it at 60 but i'm playing on UHD so sacrifices had to be made. Some games perform badly below 60 FPS, but AK isn't one of them. The slight motion blur (even if you edit the values to 0) masks any delay or sluggishness when you move around. IMO you can only tell the difference if you have two rigs side by side and playing the same game.

I beat an indoor level last night, and there were lots of lighting and fog/smoke effects, and fps dropped down to 25-30 at times. During heavy fighting, especially when doing finishing moves, it felt a little sluggish. But that lasted only a few seconds. Again, the game is playable at 30 FPS without causing motion sickness, or that feeling that something is 'wrong', that laggy feeling when you're moving around.

My point is that those of you striving for 60 FPS because you paid a lot for your video card should lower your expectations and try to enjoy the game at a constant FPS that is above 30. As long as you keep it above 30 you can even crank up the graphic settings and GameWorks. Don't treat the FPS number like your ego. If the game is smooth enough to be playable, just play it.

No doubt some will call me a liar, or have low expectations. I have all settings maxed out except AA. GameWorks on. I'm having a lot of fun gliding around and stalking my enemies with precision. The game only crashed once, when I completely turned off motion blur.

In contrast, Far Cry 4 felt a little sluggish when FPS went below 40. Dark Souls and W_D launch were far worse than AK. That's my opinion and experience though. I have no problems with AK controls and combat feels like a blast.

People are exaggerating.

I can't enjoy slideshows. I can't play it at 30 FPS just like I couldn't enjoy GTA5 on PS3 because it was a slideshow.

Obviously some people don't care as much as others, but saying the game is perfectly playable at 30 FPS comically wrong in the PC market, because the standard isn't 30 FPS, and any dev. that has made a game on PC knows this.

I wouldn't say that. It definitely does, but framerate isn't the cause of the issues.

I've found it to be perfectly playable too, even with all settings cranked up and running at triple wide resolutions. For now, i've reduced down to a single display because the stuttering when using the batmobile was just intolerable to me anymore. The problem still occurs, but it's more liveable.

Performance improvements will come. In the meantime, I'll keep enjoying the hell out the game.

Once again "argumentum ad populum". Just because X number of people say Y does not in and of itself constitute scientific proof of anything.

People DO exagerrate, sometimes very badly, especialyl when they are unhappy. It's a somewhat unconcious thing, they want people to sympathize with them, so they tend to exagerrate for effect.

Another ubisoft religious that follows the doctrine of the "30 cinematic fps".

Even if you keep the framerate locked to 30 it still drops to single digits. Unless you spent $5000 on triple Titan X's. But if that's the case why are you here talking to us povos.

I have an AMD r9 290 and no, this game is not playable. It's not a matter of 30 instead of 60FPS. (BTW a 30fps cap is still unacceptable and the performance of this game is far from on par with what everyone's hardware is capable).
I cannot play the game on any setting because of the terrible stuttering issues, litterally every time I glide or move the camera around the game stutters badly, sometimes even the sound completely drops. I installed on an SSD. Many people are in my case, and they are not exaggerating, it IS UNPLAYABLE.

Then people have a right to be pissed at the bad framerate and downgrade compared to consoles. A PC port should AT LEAST deliver the same experience, and a full priced PC game should take advantage of the majorely more powerful hardware. PERIOD.

... People have been playing the game, we know exactly what the problems are. Also this isn't a debate stop acting like a smartass, no one is impressed.
My issue isn't it's not playable, I wanna play and get the best experience that's better than or at least on par with PS4, not worse

Every Batman title before this wasn't locked at 30fps

No, play on console if you want to play at 30fps.
randir14 Jun 26, 2015 @ 12:56pm
The game still stutters at 30 fps. I might as well unlock the FPS to 60 and get the same stuttering with a higher framerate.

Ever since I moved from consoles to PC i have been preaching to my console friends about the glory of high framerates in most PC games compared to their console version that generally run around 30fps. When I played AK i didn't even notice that it was locked to 30fps until it was mentioned to me. I of course went in and changed that but it barely feels any different to me. The way this game looks and plays works well for 30fps which I don't say often as it's usually bothersome to me when a game runs sub 40-50

I can't make any sense of this no matter how many times I read it. It's like saying, "Aside from the dog turd sitting in the middle of my plate, I really cannot call this a horrible meal."
