Native PS4 Controller Support Not Working?
So I've read in many places that this game is supposed to have native support (DirectInput) for the Dual Shock 4 controller. However when I plug my controller in the game doesn't recognize it. It recognizes my XBOX ONE controller as usual but I wanted to try out my PS4 controller as I'm way more used to that than the XB1 controller.

Any idea what could be causing it not to be recognized? I've seen videos online where people plug theirs in and bam it shows "Controller recognized" and shows the proper button indicators just like Far Cry 4 did.

Any help is appreciated in advance! Thanks.

Thanks but that's for XInput and will recognize it as a 360 controller. Arkham Knight is supposed to have native support for PS4 controller (DirectInput) so that it shows PS4 button indicators on screen.

It's actually built into the game to recognize a PS4 controller without any third party software (plug-n-play) just like with Far Cry 4. The touchpad should work and everything just like it does on PS4.

But my game isn't recognizing the controller when plugging it into a USB port like it does with my XB1 controller.

Not surprised with how many other things are missing - add that to the complaint list ;)

I'm using Input Mapper which i personally prefer after having tried DS4Windows. https://inputmapper.com/

Doesn't that show XBOX button indicators on screen though? With native support the controller will work exactly as it does playing Arkham Knight on PS4 when using DS4.

It still works natively with Far Cry 4 I just tested it to see if there's something conflicting with it. I've also seen YouTube videos of people playing PC version with PS4 controller and it showing the PS4 button indicators and "Dual Shock 4" in the "Gamepad Settings" screen.

Darn... I guess I'll have to stick with XB1 controller for now. Just wanted to try the DS4 to see if I like it better.

Was that rhetorical?

Next question.

The game recognizes when I have a DS4 controller plugged in and it shows the correct button prompts on screen (it says Press X to start) and in the main menu but it doesn't detect any input from the controller.

However, when I connected the DS4 via USB cable to my PC it detected it and it worked as advertised, showing the Playstation button prompts and even the DS4 controller mapping in the options screen. It doesn't seem to work on wireless even though in various other games it works flawlessly.

Batman Arkham Knight has official support for the original DS4 controller, the v2 version does not work.
