Forensic scanner pulse not working

I have tried multiple times to use the forensic scanner pulse on some of the riddler panels that require it but it just doesn't seem to work for whatever reason. I press the left stick on my Xbox controller while in battle mode in the batmobile but like I said, it doesn't work. Am I pressing the correct button or is it just a bug? Would be greatly appreciated if someone could give me an answer.

I have battle toggle turned on in the options so it might be different for me, but the scanner works in battle mode when I press up on the dpad.

I'm talking about the pulse though, I can do the normal sanning but not the pulse like when you are searching for the underground roots

I'm also playing with a xbox controller, but the forensic scanner is activated by pressing UP on the D-pad once while in battle mode.

And most riddles require you to scan objects on foot by holding the UP button on the D-Pad.

Oh now I know what you're talking about. You have to activate the scanner while aiming at whatever object you want to track (for example some of the Riddler trophies require it). You'll then see markings on the ground and you have to follow them.

Never mind. Didn't see the trail of question marks on the ground. I always thought that the forensic scanner pulse was like the thing that you used when looking for Ivy's roots

Don't know if you are further in the game than me.
But if I remember right, this thing was only useful in the main mission where u had to follow the trail of a car (by pressing UP only once in battle mode) not for riddles.
But not really sure, though ^^

Masah, There are some panels located all over the map where you have to scan first then follow a trail of question marks

My question is what do you do/how do you know you're at the END of the trail? I get stuck here.

You'll find these panels around Gotham, if you go into detective mode it should say to activate it you'll need to use the forensic scanner pulse in the batmobile. This is where you get into the batmobile move yourself infront of the panel and use the scanner which is up on the d-pad (don't know what it is on keyboard) a question mark should appear on the ground if you scan in the direction it is pointing more should appear. Keep following it until you get to a point where you find like a circle with tons of tiny question marks inside. Shoot the 60mm cannon at it and it should break the wall it's on. Then go through and get the riddler trophy that it has been leading you to.
