Can't launch the game.
Since the new patch i have been seeing this message when trying to launch the game

https://gyazo.com/588b807dff015969eb678c2b3c740561

Anyone has idea what it means or has the same issue? I have tried some of the fixes people have been reporting for their issues including deleting different files then to verifying the files. Also did fresh install last night.

EDIT: CHECK POPEJ's ANSWER FOR POSSIBLE SOLUTION!

Windows 10?

First goto C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Batman Arkham Knight\Binaries\Win64 - (or wherever you installed the game.)

Right click BatmanAK.exe > Properties > Compatibility > Tick "Run this
game as an administrator". > Hit 'Apply' or 'OK'

Next..

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Batman Arkham Knight\BMGame\Config

Delete or move BmEngine.ini and BmSystemSettings.ini out of the folder.

Should work.

NB: Reason being you may have edited one of the .ini files when you first bought the game, probably to fix the framerate issue or similar.

Windows 10. Just tested on the laptop its fine. Just make sure after update... if u have messes with the ini file etc.. verify integrity of the game to set it back to default.

Aye, this might work, however, for me at least, it was the "run as administrator" change specifically that got rid of the message the Op has mentioned. 'Verifying game integrity" won't actually help in this regard.

The second step fixes a straight 'illegal operation' that I got immediately after the first fix!

I did not alter any files. Just installed the game after launch and then waited for this update. I'll test out the suggestions and see if it works.

Yeah i got Windows 10 and graphic card up to date.

I'm pretty sure the issue is Windows 10 related (I upgraded from Win 7 last month). It's the only title that caused problems since I upgraded the OS.

Can't say I'm surprised!

Good news and thanks a lot. (If you have CS:GO. Let me know so i can gift you something on it).

- I changed the BatmanAK.exe to adminstrator (also switched it to Windows 7 compatible from Windows 8)

Then i deleted the files you mention and it worked. Hopefully it runs properly now on, but at least i got it to launch.

Good to hear! Thanks for the CS:GO offer, I rarely play it but would welcome a gift that you already have duplicates of.

As far as performance is concerned the game has definitely come on leaps and bounds. I did the 'Performance Test' in the in-game Options menu and averaged 58fps (make sure you toggle the 60fps command in graphics settings if you want more than 30fps).

(edit: With everything max apart from AF which is set to x4. All the fancy Nvidia options are on as well.)

I've got a 1st gen Intel i7 920, 8gb RAM, GeForce 970 and it's all installed on a SSD so it's an average system.

I added you. I gift you a skin in CS:GO if you accept it. Cheers for the aid. Might be i can't push the most epic graphics but hopefully at least able to play the game so it's all good. :)

Edit: Off to market for now. I'll check later if you have accepted the invitation.

If you have firewall turned on it will say "Unauthorized changes blocked" which mans the game tried to make changes but it wouldn't allow. In order to fix this just got to the message when it pops up and click the problem then click "Allow" to let the game make the changes and it should work when you launch it because it worked for me.

Hope this helps!
