Arkham Knight and Directx 12....
Ever since I've updated my windows 10 and Nvidia 860m i cant get Arkham Knight to start. I keep getting the error that, this title doesn't support my version of Directx. I've tried a fresh install of the in game common redist Directx app. But my system still comes up as Directx 12. Ive been playing the game fine for the last week but now have ran into this problem, which is a real shame considering all the problems we have all suffered. Can anyone help me here or does anyone know when Arkham Knight will support Directx 12?

Thank you

DirectX12? Never. This game runs on DX11. But it doesn't matter because DX12 is backward compatible. What error are you getting?

This version of Directx is not supported by the title, please check the requirements.

All Windows updates installed? Latest video card drivers installed? Etc. I'm running on Windows 10 with no issues.

The game was running perfectly tonight, then whilst having my dinner I decided to update my Nvida 860m as a new update came out this morning. after that I updated a couple of windows updates. The game has been running fine till these new updates. I now have DX12 but I dont know where that has come from and I cant go back to DX11

You've never been able to go back to DX11 on Win10. Win10 has DX12 and has since launch. But it's backward compatible so it doesn't matter.

See if you can open the Nvidia control panel, if not maybe windows update corrupted your nvidia drivers by forcing an updated driver version(the same) trought windows update, lately this is happening alot on laptops because of the Optimus technology.
Also see your windows device manager to see if something is in conflict, mainly your video adapters.

Thanks for all your responses, I re-installed the Nvidia driver and that worked. Everytime an Nvidia update gets installed it causes me problems. I cant even finish the installment from the control panel as it always fails upon completion and have to manually download it from the website. Again thanks for the quick responses

Same story here. I played the game just fine this morning, but after I installed Nvidia version 358,91 to get ready for Battlefront, I get the same message as the OP when booting up Batman AK.

windows 10
gtx 860m
i7

I was able to run the game at high at all times, though the framerate was mostly around 31.

update:
on another thread somebody suggested to go into the Nvidiia control panel and 'refresh' the settings of this game >> DOES NOT WORK FOR ME

Then i re-downloaded the driver, re-installed it over de existing one, and batman booted up just fine immediately.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ drivers man. same reason I couldnt play the Battlefront Beta and Killing Floor 2 last month

Windows Update in Windows 10 will screw up your video drivers if you give it the opportunity to.

nah it isnt windows 10. i had windows 10 with working games last month, until i updated the driver. that screwed everuthing up.

in that case it might have been laptop specific. multiple guys like me who use a Lenovo Y50-70 couldnt run any games after a specific Nvidia update.
