Some people will luck out, and games will work better for them compared to others, or they'll experience less bugs, etc. Whereas the others will experience performance issues on their rigs that are perfectly fine, and/or experience bugs as well.
On top of this, everyone has their own standards for what's good and what's bad. Some people don't mind stutter, low frame rates, being forced to use the lowest settings even though they should be able to use higher, lowering resolution below 1080p, etc. Then there are those who can't stand anything below 60/120/144 FPS, or know their rig is more than capable of running a game at maximum settings yet get poor performance and don't tolerate it.
Universally, Batman runs "poor", it just depends on your definition of "poor", and how much toleration you have towards "poor" performance. Then there are those who somehow max the game on rigs that just meet the recommended, all because they were lucky with the dice roll.
Anyone saying that it performs or should perform in an consistent mannor across all rigs because theirs runs it, are the only people lying.
However, I do agree that the game is not well-optimized in the slightest and it will be a gamble to try and run it. BUT, if you like the series a lot and want to play it and meet the requirements, I'd say go for it.
I fall under the minumum but with tweaking I got it to a playable state (averaging 30-60fps depending on how much is going onscreen), so for me, it's good enough until I can get a better rig.
There are still problems but for now its quite playable.
yup, that about sums up my experience, game runs fine for me but still has it's issues.
As an unbiased party, i'll tell you.
I have not played Arkham Knight since release (I've owned it for 4 months).
When I heard about the ♥♥♥♥ storm and people saying it is unplayable, I didn't bother.
After this last patch, I loaded the game up.
I can run it at 55-60 fps on the highest settings, however I will get random drops to 10 FPS when simply running around, which imo is not acceptable.
Any by drops to 10 FPS, I don't mean 55fps dropping to 45. I mean the game drops to an actual 10 FPS.
A game should not stutter like that...it should be a consistent FPS. Even a consistent 30 FPS would be better than an unstable FPS that can drop to 10 or under.
The majority of the time it is 55-60 FPS but it really ruins the experience..Guess we wait for more patches.
Turning the texture quality down to normal did not help.
To be clear it is "playable" but it's not enjoyable...or as enjoyable as it SHOULD be.
My rig is GTX 970 4 GB, 8 GB Ram and i7 CPU
Take this as you will...
So far it's been really smooth since I got the latest drivers. Will continue playing tomorrow.
well, for me it runs pretty good, not to say it's without issues, encountered bugs from time to time (grappling hook to the sky, falling through the floor) and the AO and Rain Layer issue is still there, but my performance is quite good so far.
Settings are: everything on high, smoke and debris off, also motion blur and aberratic chromation off (don't like them)
My rig is
i72600K
GTX 970
24Gigs of ram.
win7
When I run the game I go to my task manager and set ak.exe priority to realtime
I hardly expericence any hitching when gliding or in the car anymore.
I get 60 most of the time aswell except for a few dips from time to time.
