Catwoman's Revenge is hard [Solved]
I seem to be stuck on the robot part where they don't stop coming; the floor gets smaller and lasers can kill you while you're countering.
Any tips?

I think people already said that but try not use any special ability in order to make critical hits. Just hit and counter. So much easier this way.

Solved this - turned out pretty simple. JUST KICK THEM ALL ASAP, they need 2 hits to be destroyed. managed to do this before even 2nd wave of electro-floor, gl guys.

After reading this post I did it first try. Thank you.

Oof, I thought this was one of the hardest fights in the game. Here are my tips:
1. Take out as many robots as fast as possible with free flow before the grid closes in.
2. When the grid does close in to 2x2, turn on "detective mode" (x) to better see where the hits are coming from. It seemed to me that that the blue hit counter could become washed out against the green electric floors, and this helped me see what was going on better.
3. Stand in the dead center of the 2x2 grid and use Catwoman's ranged attacks (1) and counters only until the fight ends. Stand in the center because her counters sometimes move her position over more than you'd like; keep returning to the dead center of the grid (as long as there's no laser... a little luck is involved there).

This was the worst fights of all 3 games (haven't played origins in a long time) for me.

It's such a stupid design. I wasted so much time because to me it seemed more like a puzzle, since i'm fighting Riddler after all. It seemed like the bots were infinite until you're down to the 4 tiles. The other DLC also tend to spawn infinite goons in boss fights like Black Mask or Joker and Harley so i figured that's the case here.

It wouldn't have been so bad but the animations don't work in such a tight spot. Being forced to stay in that 4 square and just counter, hoping you don't go over the electrified floor is not exactly fun and engaging combat. You're not even immune during that animation or able to cancel it, you're forced to sit there and watch her die.

Figured it out: just mash. Most Arkham veterans have probably gotten into a rhythm where you wait until an attack hits until you press the button again (I think you had to do that to get critical strikes in previous games, but it looks like they removed that in Knight?). But if you just pound the attack button as fast as you can and only counter when you really need to, Catwoman will blitz from enemy to enemy and take them out WAY faster. After about 10 failed attempts doing the fight the way the rest of the series has taught me to fight, I beat it first try doing this. It's probably something specific to Catwoman, because she's so much more nimble than most of the other characters.

But Catwoman's DLC is still by far the worst of the lot. I don't know which designer thought any part of it was a good idea and what playtester thought that it was balanced. The stealth section has at least 25% too many enemies for a character with 5% of Batman's predator tools - you can't Fear Multi-takedown, you can't lure them into traps with the Voice Modulator+Disruptor, you can't booby-trap bodies with Explosive Gel, you can't sabotage drones, you can't lock them into small rooms and take them out at your leisure, you just have to sit back and hope that they wander into an area that's out of sight of the other dozen guys that you can reach without being seen while also being sure to not be found on the ceiling above one of the guys you've already taken out. And then they create a combat scenario that seems to demand that you do exactly what the combat is designed not to do. It's called FreeFlow, not PrecisionPosition. It's a system where a single button press can send you careening across the battlefield to some other enemy, it just doesn't lend itself to environmental hazards.

It really is pretty surprising that they could've messed up this badly on her DLC, it really stands out next to the others.

@Superfield ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you're spot on. I was trying to time the attacks like you're supposed to in literally other Arkham game, but mashing X as fast as you can clears the level. 100% this was horribly designed.

I think it is brilliantly designed. It's a riddle. ;)
I remeber when I frist played this, it was no big deal. When I returned to it much later, thinking I was much better at playing Arkham, it suddenly became unbeatable. You have to play stupid to beat it. And I guess as so many things in the Arkham series this is no accident or incident. That's intentional...

Necromancy should be left to trained professionals! But yeah that fight in with the tiles is frustrating at times.

No. It's just badly designed.

Arkham's combat has always had the player gracefully flowing from one enemy to another. Where you can move is dictated by where the enemies are located and what counter and takedown animations you get. Even Batman's batclaw can move him more than it would an enemy past a certain amount of distance.

The combat room's challenge comes from the environmental hazards, notably the gradually shrinking space where the player can stand without taking serious damage. Enemies are immune to this, that means the very core of arkham's freeflow combat is a detriment as you can now no longer safely engage with with the very foundation of the entire series as you'll get yourself killed when you inevitably fling yourself into an enemy and lose two thirds of your health trying to get back to the safe spot.

The fight is poorly designed, it preys on and abuses the weaknesses of the combat system, forcing you to play in a way antithetical to what it was designed for.

You can call it whatever you want. I don't care. And you (and some others) beeing frustrated and hating it won't change the facts established in a nearly ten years old game. So you better learn to deal with it. ;)
A Riddler related fight that forces you to play dumb and unlearn everything you learned before to be successfull is an interesting concept. As said, I don't think that's accidental...

I did, I beat the DLC twice and on hard for the second time. I think I have the right to say it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
