No Sound
since the Season of Infamy update when i try to play the game there is no sound, not in the menus, game play, or cut scenes
all my other games and programs work just fine but this is the only one experiencing issues, any idea what the problem might be?
i'm running Windows 10
Thanks for your time

I do have sound, but after I alt-tab out and go back in, no sound. I then have to restart the game.

Jesus christ, could you clowns necro any harder? Chances are the problem is your sound devices/sound config, not the game. Fix your stuff, and post a new thread if you need help, don't necropost an ancient thread, esp when it didnt' even have any responses. The OP has long ago moved on.

He doesn't even own the game (no mouse symbol next to his name). Filthy pirate busted. Time to report that guy.

A pirate like you doesn't deserve any help.

How come the game isn't on your Steam account?

I'm aware, but didn't bother to mention it. However, you should keep in mind that:
1)Sometimes the icon doesn't display even when the game is in the library (it's not in this case, but you can easily check this for non-private profiles)
2)They might own it on a different account
3)They might be playing it using family sharing.

They might also be running a pirated copy, sure, but that can't be proven or disproven based purely on the missing mouse icon.

I played the game at a mate's house. But, because of the issues and all the driving (bleh) I didn't get it. I liked Asylum and City, but none of the others.
PS
As you can see in my profile, I have more than 'a few' games.

Yeah well, you still don't own THIS game.

So, are we done necro'ing this thread?

I'm not convinced, why would you post from YOUR OWN Steam account for support with an issue on a game that you played over a friend's house? Makes no sense.
Corvus Aug 24, 2018 @ 4:43pm
Same, no sound for anything in game. Sound settings are correct and work everywhere else. Can even play sound in browser overlay.

The alt+tab makes sense, because the game has been opening in the minimized position.. but not sure how to stop that either.

Has anyone solved this?

and BTW;

Nope, we're not done necro'ing...

because you a-holes had to create stupid drama instead of answering the question - and now when you search google for "Arkham Knight no sound", the first result is of you ignorant children acting like trolls instead of actually HELPING other people... like the guy that initially revived the thread, who DOES own the game. I wish I could report you all for stupidity... Get a life. Seriously... wtf guys.

Update to sound issue:
I've just had to restart the game until it eventually doesn't load up minimized. I don't change anything... just restart the game until it starts in focus and I have sound. Don't think this helps... but, maybe someone knows something I don't :(

Big surprise.

Deny it if you like. You're toxic.

(and LMFAO... a quick browse through your posts proves that)

lol back to necro this thread in the hope Buck makes a return. I love how this still doesn't have a definitive answer

This is why I hate forums so much, because people comment their opinions and offer nothing to the topic nor future proof their comments. And the result of that is when people have the same problem and google the solution, pages like these pop up as the first result. And surprise, this is the first result on google when you type in "Arkham Knight no sound", it is now 2020 (5 years since the question was posted, 3 years since the first comment) and still nothing.

Here's my solution and what got it working from me:

1. I disabled all the passive sound sources on my computer, realtek digital stuff ect. anything that's not being used. Only leaving my screen's speakers and headphones as active. Checked channel mixer to make sure all the channels are set to max or at least have sound.

2. Loaded the save I was having the problem on, went to settings and set the sound on everything to zero, saved the game, quit and restarted my computer, reloaded and set everything on that save back up to max.

3. Fixed and now beating in people's head as Batman.

*Edited out the Covid frustration
