Game Sound Is Very Low
So recently, I started playing Batman Arkham Knight for the first time on my gaming laptop. As I played the game, I noticed that the game sound is a bit low especially the dialogue from cinematic cutscenes. At first, I thought there was a problem with the speakers of my laptop or my headset, but when I tested them on other programs, they were working just fine. I tried to increase the main volume of my laptop to max level and still didn’t work. I even tried to adjust the volumes through Volume Mixer and still didn’t do anything anything.

I’ve been doing a lot of research on the internet for a possible fix. But unfortunately, all I’ve found are solutions for those who have experienced “No Sound” in the game. My personal issue is that I can barely hear anything in the game.

Have any of you experienced this kind of sound issue before in Batman Arkham Knight? If so, is there a way to fix this? I know this game is already 5 years old now but I thought I’d ask for some help. Please let me know how I can fix this issue.

Thanks

I remember having this issue when the game came out. I found a solution on these forums, but I can't seem to find it now.

I looked through my audio settings, and this one looks vaguely familiar: In Control Panel > Sound > Communications, there's a setting that tells Windows what to do when it detects communications activity. Try setting that to "Do nothing" and see if that happens to fix AK's volume.

I did it and the game volume seems to be alright. But tbh, I was still expecting a bit more volume in the game since it still sounds a bit low to me even though I've set my laptop's volume to max.

Do you have any other solutions?

Yep. They're all at max level. And I've set my speaker settings to "Headphones" since I'm using a headset.

Hey you sure you don't have any audio preset on. Mostly gaming lappy's come with some sort of audio standard thingy's.

Are you referring to a sound equalizer? I'm not even sure if I have that on or not tbh. How do I check on that?

Depends , what laptop are you using . I own a lenovo and it's supposedly has Dolby Audio .
There should be a sticker on your laptop saying who optimized audio for them.

Ah ok. Well I'm using an MSI Gaming Laptop and it says my laptop has Nahimic 3 audio. But when I look at my sound devices through Control Panel, the speaker device that's being used is RealTek(R) Audio.

Does it have a separate Control panel ? .

Try disabling Nahimic all together it has caused audio problems for many games...
most people un-install it.

@Robo_Tron15 I agree with lucasj1210 , try turning off the preset .If it doesn't make a diffrence try differentt audio profile.

So I uninstalled the Nahimic drivers and the application from my laptop and it actually worked! The game volume in Arkham Knight is now louder than before. Man, I didn’t know Nahimic was the one causing the sound issue this whole time. Also, I never knew Nahimic also caused sound issues on other games as well. This is the first time I’ve heard of it.

Thank you guys so much for helping me out with this issue! Really appreciate it ;)
