Riddler progress bug (game breaking)

I have encountered a bug with the Riddler quest that breaks the game progress when trying to get knightfall.

I have 242/243 ‘riddles’. The last riddle is in the Final Exam room (I found from Google – ‘You forced this contraption over my brain, I'll reward you with punishment, debasement, and pain.’).
The last Riddler activity I did was ‘Drain Pain’, however, Advance Death Traps is still red and locked. I am led to believe that it should have unlocked after I did Drain Pain but it did not.

When I chose the Riddler in Most Wanted, Batman just says he needs to find all the trophies to lure out the Riddler. This is not possible though because the final one is locked behind the Final Exam door, which I can not get to.

Partly posting this because I have not seen this reported anywhere and partly because I am hoping I have over looked something obvious that will allow me to progress.

Side note, having finished this game on xbox twice when it came out and having got 240% back then, I have been using a trainer to make the bat mobile tank parts quicker as well as some of the more tedious parts pass faster. I know there is a chance that something tinkering with the games memory might have lead to this, but it is worth noting too I got all available riddles as soon as they became accessible in the game. This also makes me thing there is an outside chance I might have done some kind of sequence break and broken the quest.

Patch and verify the game:
1. Select game in Library, right-click Properties > Updates, choose Automatic Updating.
2. Select game in Library, right-click Properties > Local Files, Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

Open your Options > Graphic Options menu and reduce in-game screen resolution from maximum for improved object and proximity registration. Your screen res on your rig might be cranked too high for traversal to properly register.

If you haven't corrupted your checkpoints already, roll your progress back to before the Drain Pain trial if possible:
