It matters for some more than others. You definitely want to do City before Knight. Asylum before City also preferred. Origins is pretty skippable, though it's still a pretty good time aside from some glitches they never fixed.

You should play them in the order they were released. Even though Origins takes place 8 years before Asylum, it has the more advanced combat system of City. Plus it's intended as a prequel, there are some call forwards here and there you will miss if you haven't played Asylum first.

It's hard to go back to older games once you experience the new mechanics each games offers. City and Knight are both big steps up in terms of mechanics and feel. Definitely play them in release order.

Story - Origins, Asylum, City, Knight.
Game Mechanics, Graphics - Asylum , City , Origins, Knight.
Depending on what you wanna do. Enjoy the story or enjoy the game.

Whatever you prefer.

On what planet does playing the third release first make sense? And then you try to say it's for story reasons.

Do you also edit all your movies so the flashbacks come at the beginning?

Origins does take place 8 years before Asylum, so TECHNICALLY if you want to play the story in order that would be correct. I'm still against it though. Because even though Origins does happen first, it was developed as a prequel, and has things like call forwards to the other games you will miss if you haven't played Asylum/City first. Plus going back to Asylum after Origins would be pretty janky. I'm not wanting to hate on Asylum, it was very innovative when it came out, but it was the first iteration of the combat system, and it was MUCH more refined afterwards. Asylum is still a great game, because you should never retroactively judge a game to be worse just because the sequels improved it.

I am not trying to say this, I am saying this to Senseless. Truthfully it won't make much sense on Comets cuz a Comet hears it if I talk to senseless.
So, why don't you use your eyes to see the diversity in opinions, instead of hearing with it?

Its his choice or, yours? So confusing.
I don't remember attacking your statement in the first place. That means I respected your opinion. And this is what you get if the community is filled with guys like you.

For the flashbacks, I can do whatever I want until it clashes with the community guidelines. You can do nothin about it I guess?

Thanks. Every player has to have their own set of opinions. Whats a community if not.

If you really want to skip everything and play only B.A.K.: be my guest. However, there are certain things from prior games (Origins included) noted in this game. If you're a Batman Arkham fan, you've got to play'em all. I did it in the order of game launch (1st: Asylum, then City and in 2014: Origins). Never played the City and Origins ports and really they are irrelevant.

I mean, if you want to wear a fruit bowl on your head, some choices are going to be better than others, but that's still not the way a fruit bowl was intended to be used.

City and Knight are meant to be played back to back. That's about it. Asylum is pretty much a self contained story.

Origins is an optional game made by a different studio, with less polish put into it than the main games.
