Dualshock 4 not working

I'm trying to use my controller to play, when I boot up it cycles from click here to start and press X to start, but when I press anything it doesn't detect anything. When I go to gamepad controls in settings it brings up the PS4 layout. How to solve?

Not really. I don't wanna have to stop everything and try to translate the Xbox layout to PS layout everytime I want to load up AK. I understand that steam has this kind of support but I don't wanna be translating inputs while I play.

How do I fix the native PS4 support.

Why does AK not detect my inputs, but show the correct layout and detect my controller?

i just wait until i'm at the main screen in-game then active my controller. it works for me. whether wireless or wired. I used to have this issue and would fix it but now I know the actual fix is to wait until your actually at the start screen then turn on or plug in your controller.

obviously there is a bug/problem with dualshock v2 controller. if you have a light-bar in front of your touchpad, then it's a v2.

it's not really a mod. it's a textfile which explains how to replace the xbox signs with ds4 signs. you just have to replace something in a textfile of your games-folder. tried it. works like a charm.

since this post was already necroed, im using DS4Windows to use my DS4 controller, There's a way to setup a profile so it's read properly like a playstation controller and not an xbox controller.
