Catwoman AR Predator Challenge Toy Soldier
Okay, my problem is the caltrops. One Medal says I can't be seen and the other tells me to take out an enemy after stunning him with Caltrops.

Just two problems.

1)Caltrops stun for like 0.00003 seconds (Exaggerated but still it's only a fraction of a second) and pressing the keys for a ground takedown would more than often result in catwoman striking a counter pose instead of using the ground takedown since the enemy is already in the process of standing up

2)As the enemy is in the process of falling. Bringing catwoman neer the thug to prepare for the ultra small window to actually take him out would make her be seen thus removing the medal. Even when they're on the floor and I do manage to use the takedown after the caltrop stun, she's still seen thus removing the "unseen"medal.

Please tell me that the medal doesn't rely on the random programming of the thug's falling animation. As if they have to fall facedown for me to do the achievement without being seen. That'll be completely out of our hands not to mention totally unfair on the developers part.

Any tips from some seasoned veterans?

Yeah thanks. I'll try that. It takes me like 3min 30 sec to clear the room without being seen. I'll try it right now.

There's a mercenary patrolling counter-clockwise on the lower floor near a sentry gun. I always save him for last to perform the caltrop trip and the unseen medals while observing from the ceiling.

Do the 3 ceiling takedowns first -- do them silently, then continue to clear the map silently so as not to disturb anyone's patrol pattern. Don't allow downed mercs to be seen by the others. Deploy caltrops when he's farthest from you so he doesn't get alarmed. To get the unseen medal after the caltrop trip, wait until he's fully down, then you have about a second to do a ground takedown. Don't worry about speed records until their patrol sequence becomes second nature. Good luck.

Sorry, I was signed in from the other screen name. :-)

Still no luck. The moment I initiate the ground takedown after caltrop stun, the unseen medal is lost. Just to note, the enemy is faced up and i can't shake off the feeling that this medal is dependent on whether the enemy is face up or face down.

I usually wait on the ceiling just above the drop area so I don't waste time on the ground takedown. Try it two different ways: dropping down as he's falling, and dropping down immediately as he's briefly down flat. You have to finish him as he's reeling.

Awesome, well done.

The way the caltrops are implemented is ABSOLUTELY ABSURD. Even if you plant them on the floor up/downlstairs without them knowing they immediately start sweeping them away with their feet. Caltrop Gameplay was perfectly fine in Arkham City. Why would the break it like that ?!
Fun rating for this challenge 1/10

Still found a cheap workaround that looks silly and makes as little sense as the caltrops game mechanics... Anyway, it's easier to smash the caltrops against the wall near the target. He will look at the wall wandering just before the caltrops work on his feet. IN the meantime, make sure that you are on higher ground like the shelves so he won't see you. This method should reduce luck to a minimum.

EDIT: Reason --> Solution

Enemies will sweep them away only if they're alerted to your presence, which is why I save the Caltrop Trip for last.

You just gotta keep trying. It took me like 30 tries but now I can complete the challenge easily. The trick is to not be seen otherwise the medics will keep reviving everyone.

The caltrops are admittedly poorly designed and its completely random as to whether or not the thug will see you after theyre stunned.

no ♥♥♥♥ sherlock,i know. the only problem - the character does the moves which its not supposed to do. like,i press B to hide in vent right under me,and the character jumps across whole room just to hide in the other vent. this never happened with me in any other challenge map,or story, which i completed no problem. but in this map,on this character it happens every second try. this is retarded and has nothing to do with my skills

That was uncalled for. It doesn't seem like you actually want help. Vent out your frustration someplace else.

Years later, this helped me a lot.
