It's very well written and well acted, with some nice touches to make NY look like Gotham. I also watched the, as far as I recall, hour long TV special showing how the sets were made, with interviews of the actors, and that was great.
You might be able to find it on Google if you haven't seen it. I think it came out just before the series launched. I did a quick search just now and couldn't find it.
I wont spoil anything, but keep watching...
Exactly, pretty much all of the complaints mentioned have become non issues as the series progressed.
No thanks. I got bored of the series, I don't intend to continue watching something I don't like.
Even if they are fixed, they shouldn't have been issues in the first place.
Watch mid-late season 2.
It's not impatience, it's boredom. I wasn't going to keep watching a boring show because it might get better. Their loss for not having the show start out good.
Potential is meaningless. Everything has "potential". Execution is what's important.
As I've said, I don't intend to continue watching a show I didn't enjoy.
"Joker" shows up starting episode 17 in season 1. No show starts off great. They arrive good enough to stave off cancellation for the first half season to full season. You have to start off with a back story for everyone. Just stick with it. It's worth it. You can't show up with established superheroes and villians and no clue how they got there. Season two is the real rise of the villians. You can skip to season two, but a lot of the story is lost.
You'll never understand how important potential is if you only look at what you see as bad. Again, your loss.
Really? Because I've seen plenty of shows that did start off great.
I'd rather not. I've probably forgotten most of the plot by now, so even picking up where I left off would probably be a bit of a challenge. And, as you said, a lot of the story will be lost.
As I said, I watched about halfway through the first season. I gave it more than a fair chance. It was boring, and nothing was really happening. There was no guarantee that the show was ever going to actually get better (and at the time, it seemed like it was just going to get worse), so I gave up on it. Even if it has gotten better, I doubt I would be able to get back into it.
Why should I waste time watching a show I don't like when I can watch other shows that I do like (or doing other things I enjoy, like discussing things on forums, playing games I like, etc)? I understand you defending the show, but I don't see why it seems so absurd to you that I don't enjoy watching it, and hence don't want to waste my time on it.
I'm not really sure what this is supposed to mean. If something is bad, it doesn't matter how much potential it has. Honestly, potential is completely overrated, almost any idea can work if executed properly. For example, look at Batman. He's a crazy billionaire that dresses up like a bat and fights crime. That sounds absurd, and it is, but the idea's been executed very well.
Yeah, because opinions totally aren't a thing... [/sarcasm]
Opinions ARE a thing, but when you take THAT long to make them, then insist the series is trash, it's a confused looking opinion. It's like those times when you look at a certain female and can't decide whether she's pretty or not.
The show was good right off the bat for many, for some an acquired taste, but most I've met whom don't like it at all, didn't take a whole half a season to make up their mind about it.
I didn't say everything about it was bad. There were some enjoyable elements and I was hoping it would get better, but after a while there started to be more bad than good and it didn't seem like it was going to get any better, so I gave up on it.
