Man-bat not appearing
So I've played through the entire story mission without ever encountering Man-Bat, I've googled it and apparently you're supposed to run into him near the beginning of the game after grappling up to a building and take his DNA or something, but my game bugged and I'm unable to do the side mission, is there any way to fix this?

Pizza, first checkpoint and quit the game to desktop from inside an interior checkpoint, preferably the Orphanage. Then play the game and return to Man-Bat's first spawn point: starting from the Orphanage, speed-grapple due eastward over buildings as though you were en route to unlock Mercy Bridge. Grapple Boost is likely essential; he might not spawn if you only grapple up to land on a rooftop, so make certain to repeatedly boost up and over the buildings -- not to any gargoyles or outriggings -- while staying in constant motion.

He should spawn slightly before passing Grand Central Station. If he hasn't spawned by the time you reach the bridge, he probably won't spawn for you in that playthrough.

Have you ever used the grapnel boost? Early in the game, Riddler contacts you and tells you to come to the orphanage. In my experience, Man-Bat shows up the very first time you use a grapnel boost after that, as long as it's from a low enough angle that you can't see the top of the building ('cuz his appearance is a jump-scare).

I've never tested how late you can manage to spawn him. It's possible the game stops checking after a while.

EDIT: Also, I guess the grapnel boost has to be onto a building rooftop; it won't work on something like a billboard.

Yes, I've used the grapnel boost, thanks for trying to help though

I will try that later

Side note for anyone else who has this problem and happens to find this thread: I didn't exit to desktop because it would put me back to my previous checkpoint before the orphanage for some reason, and also, you'll know you did it right when you start to hear strange noises and shrieking.

If you save in freeroam then you will get bounced back to your last previous spawn point. If you entered the Orphanage and made certain the save icon stopped spinning before quitting the game from inside the building, the game should normally have saved properly from inside the structure.

Checkpointing is sometimes one of those actions that shouldn't be rushed; make certain the game saves properly before quitting to desktop or menu. You can also set a checkpoint by entering an interior structure, wait for the save icon to stop spinning, then restart that checkpoint. You should then spawn from inside the new interior checkpoint.

That's what I did, either way, the problem was solved, thank you

I found manbat after doing the first azrael challenge, and then going into the tallest building near the first challenge rooftop, with the grappling.
