Is the game (end 2020) still a technical train wreck?
The game had a bumpy start at the time. Especially because of the technical / performance problems. To what extent did the developers get them under control?
In the PC Gaming Wiki there are several tools and tutorials linked to get the problems under control. To what extent are they still necessary?

These are my specs:

CPU
AMD Ryzen 5 3600
RAM
16.0GB
Graphics
LG HDR WFHD (2560x1080@75Hz)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (ZOTAC International)

It's pretty much all still relevant. PCGW is regularly updated for popular games.

Unfortunately, the best fix, Arkham Quixote requires disabling gameworks effects. Shame, since they look so nice.

I've had no problems staying above 60fps at all times with everything on max, including Gameworks.

The guide you linked is horribly out of date...for one it mentions Kaldaien's tweak tool, which does not work anymore and hasn't worked since October 2015. The patch the game received at that time changed the way the engine worked, the tweak tool was no longer relevant, and he deemed it not worth it to try to update since the game performed ok since then. These days, modern hardware completely overpowers it.

Perfect for me, only a few framerate drops in a couple of areas, everywhere else really smooth and 60fps. Only 1 crash in 80 hrs of playing.

Its way way better than when it was released. Only crash I've had was during playing the Batgirl DLC. Maxed everything out with gameworks looks good and is decently smooth.

It's all about what PC you have, I get locked 60FPS at 4K resolution with every singel setting turned on, yes, even all the gameworks settings as well, runs ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ perfect!

No, it doesn't run as poorly as say Crysis 3.
All my issues have to do with the controls, it's really a game that does too much with too few buttons.

Sorry to bother you, did you manage to fix the error? I got the fatal error right after the ending / rescue, would like to CONTINUE to find collectibles but it just keep giving me the fatal error

i5-6400
GTX 1060 6GB
16GB RAM
Graphic setting = low - optimized by Nvidia GeForce experience

Did everyone said - reinstall redistributables, set non read only, change PhysX to dedicated GPU still the same....

Fixed by replaying from scratch on Batgirl DLC, hope they can fix it...

The GOG version probably runs better now that it's DRM/Denuvo free.

There are some benchmarks on YT on Steam vs Epic...no difference to speak about

Is the epic version DRM free?

Yup.

Whilst Denuvo can cut performance there are examples where it doesn't really make any difference at all.

Interesting. But still, regardless of performance impact, having no denuvo at all is the way to go.

Of course, once you have paid for something you don't want to waste any CPU cycles on anything unnecessary.
