Help! Dualshock shock 4 doesn't work(Solved)
To clarify: I'm using the Dualshock 4 controller wirelessly, and am using the DS4Windows driver. Been working fine with other games such as darksouls 3.
The game seems to register the controller, giving me the option to start game with x button, and allowed me to change controls with the controller. However no button press seemed to work, however the touchpad on the controller is working.. I've tried to restart the controller, restart the game, restart the driver, update the controller driver and my graphics card driver... I also tried to go wired, however the controller simply doesnt respond.. Any helps?
ps: I'm aware that there are other threads of the same topic, however no solutions worked and the threads are pretty old so i'm wondering if theres and new solutions to this, thanks!
PS: Solved! Thank you guys so much!

have you ticked the "hide ds4" option in ds4 windows? arkham knight has native ds4 support and it could be detecting your controller as 2 different devices.

Just tried it, works like a charm! Thanks a bunch man! (although for some weird reason it also identifies the dualshock as xbox one controller, but it still worked as per nomal, thanks!)

You shouldn't need to use DS4Win, just uncheck DS4 support in Steam and it will detect and treat the controller as a DS4 including giving you the right prompts instead of an emulated Xbox controller.

That's normal. DS4Win is an Xinput wrapper, which means as far as the PC and games are concerned it's an Xbox controller and thus, gives you those prompts.

I tried to delete DS4windows, however after i deleted it steam doesn't seem to recognise my DS4controlelr anymore... Went to big picture and then controller settings, tried to tick it on and off, restart my controller/com/steam and nothing seemed to work lol, i think i'll just stick to using DS4windows(i'm quite familiar with the xbox inputs anyways lol), Thanks a bunch for the help though!!

thats fine for USB, but if you want to use the pad wirelessly, steam afaik, has no way to monitor its battery.

That's the only way to get the correct DS4 button prompts.

Guys I'm not using ds4win or anything, It's just my dualshock controller connected to PC with USB. The game detects it and says press X to start but it doesn't work. However you can go to the menu if you press the PS button and R1 but then you can't choose a savegame. My dualshock works fine with Hitman.
Edit.: I'm now trying with InputMapper and it works but Xbox prompts are shown...

The same occured to me when I was playing assassins creed yesterday, the X button is registered as the triangle(y on ps4 controller), and every time i tried to load the save it tries to delete it. Had to install back ds4 for it to actually work, but it had troubles here and there still, I Guess there’s no way out of that lol

The thing is the game show the PS prompts but doesn't respond. And it worked before! I remember playing the game one or two months before with the controller perfectly...

also having this problem but nothing works, regardless of if I have the controller hidden or ds4 off altogether, or if I have the steam settings in the big picture turned on or off

I too was having this issue. i checked the hide button. didnt work. then unchecked it after closing the game. went into Steam -> Settings -> Controller -> General and noticed the boxes were unchecked. Only the Guide Button Focuses Steam was checked. checked Playstation Config Support, and also Generic Gamepad Config Support. started game. worked fine. hope this helps. (DS4 was still running too, never turned it off). Edit: also i never use big picture mode if this helps.

Worth noting that by default, Arkham Knight is only compatible with original DualShock 4 controllers, if you are using a v2 DS4 controller or the DualSense, you will have to use Steam or DS4Windows to make the game see an Xbox controller.
