Why won't this game work?

I've installed, uninstalled, re-installed this game and it has yet to work! I either get a app already running message or it just won't ever start. Can someone help?

That happened to me and in launch arguments i added "-windowed". Whenever the game starts, i just press Alt+Enter and put it back to fullscreen again

@Vive la MPSI, your in-game screen resolution is probably too high for your monitor. Start in -windowed mode again, then reduce your screen res from inside the Options > Graphic Options menu. Test with 1280x720 and disable -windowed mode, then slowly increase screen res in small increments until you find your highest resolution threshold.

@markysiukas, you might have a different problem than the OP. List your PC specs including system (32-bit or 64-bit) and RAM; Windows OS (7, 8.1, 10); video card including VRAM; and paste any error or crash message in its entirety into this topic. It could be something simple.

@JonoAMano windows 10 pro,graphics card: intel(R) UHD Graphics 620. Sorry i cant copy the the error but there was like problems with batman.exe. I hope it helps for you to get some information

List your processor. Let the game crash again, then take a screenshot using Snippet Tool or other screencap app; then you can upload it as Artwork. We need to see that error message.

Even though you managed to get Arkham Knight to open, you'll will struggle to run the game at the lowest resolution. Maybe 800x400p 7-10fps. I'll just refund and buy game that isn't so graphically demanding.
To be able to run this game, you want to have a good 4 core CPU, 4-6 threads (8T is the best), at least GTX 1050 (4GB Variant) and dual channel 8GB (prefer 16GB if you want to have a very smooth experince).
You can try and use BMT, but it won't help much in your case.

Just downloaded the game today and I was having this issue. In my case it was giving the small loading screen image while to game booted up but world never launch and just crash. I got around this be validating the game files. It appears one of the game files downloaded incorrectly and had to be re-downloaded.

If any one is still having this issue I would start there Let steam validate your game file and see if any of them are corrupted.
