To get that little upwards "boost" after the eject, I believe all that's required is for the Batmobile to be in (forward) motion at the time you eject. You say you're going fast, so it sounds like you know you need a "running start," but maybe you're not ejecting until after you hit the barrier and the Batmobile is no longer moving?
Or, just a wild guess, maybe you're releasing the glide button/key during the eject before the glide starts? Like, maybe you double-tap it, then release and hit it a third time (as opposed to holding it after the second press)? I'm not even sure if that would affect it; I can check later on.
I could also get it to fail by going too fast in the Batmobile. When I used the afterburner on the approach and ejected at the last moment, then Batman moved so fast after the eject that he reached the wall before the upward boost could kick in. I hit about where you indicated. Maybe you're trying so hard that you're overdoing it? The Batmobile doesn't need to be going very fast when you eject.
You also don't need to be all the way at the finish line when you eject in order for things to work out, but that shouldn't be hurting anything as long as you're not hitting the barrier.
Regarding the left stick, you do need to hold it in whichever direction makes Batman angle up (depends on your flight inversion settings; sounds like maybe that's "forward" in your case).
If none of that helps, then I'd suggest going outside and playing around with ejecting and gliding and observing what it takes to get that upwards boost. Can you get it to work any better out there?
If I remember correctly, the text on top of the screen says I need to get as much momentum as possible when doing the glide-jump.
