Mind you, it can be done after getting hit it's just quite a bit harder to do but not impossible. If you manage to not get hit you have the advantage of having to face only 1 or 2 brutes whereas in the other scenario brutes will spawn regularly.
When you hit 1.000.000 points, all enemies will stop respawning but you'll still have to clear whatever thugs remain.
After you clear all, Croc appears and he's easy to beat even in nightmare difficulty. Other than that, the rest is practice and using everything at your disposal.
And on a side note, I made a mistake in my other post. I haven't fought Croc in a while, so I forgot, but it turns out that if you don't get hit at all no brutes will spawn I just checked it.
General:
Large group tactics
>Perform several strikes, throw batarangs then immediately launch a multi-ground takedown.
>Fire REC at thugs wielding stun batons making sure they knock thugs over, throw batarangs and multi-ground takedown
>Super REC or super freeze grenade if you are unsure what to do. Either stops a bunch of them moving or makes them possibly hit each other while flinching
>Do not feel you have to perform a throw counter every time you counter. Regular counters are faster to perform and take the guesswork out of thinking if a thug you want to hit will still be standing. Throw counters while armed also tend to be very slow.
Avoiding damage/invulnerability:
>Grab sticks from far away. Batman will roll over to them from a long distance very quickly. You are not invincible during this, but it's very fast.
>Ariel attack on shield thugs will cancel all other attacks. Redirected ariel attack on any thug will also work.
>Bat-clawing electrified thugs will stop all attacks and leave plenty of time to slam them. Use them to your advantage!
>If you don't know what the thug is holding, do a cape stun. Thugs cannot hurt you with contact during this, so it doesn't matter if they have a sun baton or are charged.
>Use the sticks enemies drop. You can hit whoever you want with them and they make ground takedowns way faster.
Specific:
>Use explosive gel on medics. This makes them start hitting people, which is the exact opposite of what they should be doing. Also, anyone confused by the gel is not coming over to hit you.
>If a shield thug is very close to you and you don't have a plan, jump over them first. Then do an ariel attack after if you wish. They hit too fast in AK to mess around with them.
>Unless you have a lot of space, do not spend time performing a beatdown on brutes. Do enough to perform an instant takedown or hit them with a stick a few times (they cannot block armed strikes). Regular strikes also work if they are stuck in a freeze grenade (unless they are a shield brute).
>If you want to beat them down, perform one while armed. It will cut through any defense they put up (and is very satisfying)
>Malitia brutes can be taken down with one instant takedown if you are armed whilst doing so.
Big points:
>Blade dodge takedowns (x100). If they have a knife, let them come
>Mult-ground takedown on 5+ thugs(x20, then multiplied by the number of targets). 6 or more make the move worth more than a blade dodge takedown.
>Ground takedown (x75). It is a lot faster if you have a stick. If not, do it straight after throwing regular batarangs at the horde. If works better than you might think!
>REC a stun baton thugs and do a critical beatdown.
>Once you get to Croc, don't be shy about dual takedowns (x250)
I've gotten 14 million points on this map with these tactics and I did it with no health upgrades. Get a combo of about 450, and you'll get to Croc without any brutes even appearing.
