Killer Crock Battle?
What Am I doing wrong? Look at the screen shots. I have him almost beat in the first shot, later in the battle he is still at the same damage level. He seems to regain health after the team attack. I can't get his health below what one seens. Weird. Thanks

Based on this, it sounds like you're initiating the dual-team takedowns, but you're not completing them properly by countering at the appropriate moments. It is absolutely required that you make it all the way through the takedown sequence without getting hit. If you get hit during the sequence, you're not going to finish him no matter how many times you punch him.

So, to answer your question, yes, there's a way to duck: you press counter when he's attacking you. It's not random. It's a fixed animation. Pay attention to the counter indicator above his head. Don't even worry about punching him; that's mostly just for spectacle.

If you don't see a counter indicator, go back to the options and turn hints on. Or stop playing on New Game Plus (which disables counter indicators) until you figure out when in the animation to counter.

EDIT: Also, note that you need to counter correctly several times in order to get through the sequence. Something like three or four times.

Switch Takedowns only set a damage level, they don't drop him. Without losing combo or taking damage to either Batman or Nightwing, build up sufficient points for Switch Takedowns until you can perform a Dual Beatdown. Again, don't lose combo and don't get hit while engaging Croc. Do not directly engage Croc, Dual Beatdowns only. Sometimes takes more than one Dual Beatdown to drop him. During Dual Beatdowns counter Croc's swipes, don't get hit.

[Edit] I forgot to add something: don't take out all the thugs until after Croc is defeated. You'll need them to build up combos, so allow time for Croc to revive his crew away from you by using redirects and non-lethal devices on nearby henchmen without losing combo.

Later in the game there's a similar mini-boss fight inside one of the buildings. You'll use the same fight techniques to win against him that you used on Croc:

Impossible. How can I beat him if he keeps regenerating health. His health is stuck at a low level, we beat it down then it comes back. How does he regenerate heath? I am paying on EASY!

Are you taking damage, which throws off Switch Takedown points? Are you allowing Croc time to revive his crew so you and Nightwing can do another Dual Beatdown?

What addon is this? I didn't know you can fight the Croc.

Here's a video I recorded last night fighting Killer Croc. skip to time code 40:00 or so of the video as I am on my way to fight him. He's really not that hard to beat at all. He is actually quite easy to beat. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/315682970

Snake, look at my Croc tally results in this screenshot, just to illustrate what's possible:

Admittedly I was point-hoarding for max XP on a Hard play setting. No damage taken and multiple combat and gadget variations with both characters from maxing out combos. Incidentally, you can tell from the picture that I don't upgrade armor until last to incentivize not getting hit but the point everyone's been suggesting -- especially ChipperMDW -- still stands: complete the Dual Beatdowns without taking damage from Croc. Or anyone else for that matter.

In addition to inspecting your hint settings to make Counter icons visible, experiment with your screen resolution to make certain you can see more of the upper screen. Croc is tall so you might miss an incoming swipe from above but he also telegraphs his moves, so don't always wait for a counter icon when you can read his body language based on beatdown timing. He'll take a load of damage before swiping with either his claws or his tail but his attack pattern timing will become predictable. Don't get discouraged, do this a few times and you'll bag him.

Thanks for the help. I could not have done it without your assistance. The ducking his swings was the key. Beat him first try. Didn't know I could duck. Thanks again. :steamhappy:

As stated already, the Croc fight is similar to the Deathstroke fight in AO.. you win by counters.
