PS4 controller identified as Xbox controller

So I am playing this game on PC and it at first did not recognize my PS4 controller. After using the big screen mode I can use my PS4 controller in the game, but it would always be identified as a Xbox 360 controller, even as Steam identified it as a PS4 controller.

I've tried all the ways I could think of but it still doesn't work, and there's no botton that would respond to afterburner when using a PS4 controller.

Can anyone help with this? I am playing on Win10 PC, and I don't have an Xbox controller.

Turn your controller around and look at the little panel on the back. Does it say "MODEL CUH-ZCT2" or "MODEL CUH-ZCT2U"? If so, that means it's a DS4 V2 controller. If it came with PS4 Slim or PS4 Pro, it's a V2.

The game has a weird quirk in that it natively recognizes only DS4 V1 controllers, that say "CUH-ZCT1" or "CUH-ZCT1U". Because the hardware ID for the DS4 V2 is different, the game does not recognize it and you have to use an emulator to have it fake an XBOX controller (DS4Windows, x360ce or Steam Big Picture emulation, etc.).

There doesn't seem to be a fix for the button prompts on the DS4 V2. If you happen to have an older DS4 V1 laying around, use that, because it does work just fine[i.imgur.com]. Otherwise, you'll probably need software to emulate an XBOX controller with it and put up with the XBOX prompts.

I have an old PS4 controller with MODEL CUH-ZCT1E and it still shows xbox one controller prompts. I play the Batman Arkham knight game if that is need. Funny thing is... With the same controller I have played the same game on steams big picture mode and everything was fine but now it doesn't work. Please help!

Its because of recent steam changes. Steam it self enforces gamepad to be xbox , because it thinks that game doesnt support dualshock v1. While in reality it only doesnt support V2.
There is nothing atm that we can do about that. Except use my guide to forcibly change gamepad buttons to Sony instead of xbox
