Help getting game to run at solid 1080p/60fps?
So I'm trying to do what is very likely a fool's errand and get Arkham Knight running at a solid 1080p/60fps. I've waited since it launched for all the kinks to get ironed out and to upgrade my gpu so I can play it 1080/60, and yet...

My specs are:

GTX 1070 8GB

i7-2600k ivybridge

16gb DDR3 ram

Arkham Knight installed to an SSD

configured using recommended settings with Kaldien's BMT tools, screenshot here: https://i.imgur.com/flik91w.png

latest nvidia drivers and all updates to game installed

Now most of the time I'm getting the game to run at 50-60fps, with dips down into the 30-40's anytime I use the batmobile, but honestly it looks like complete ♥♥♥♥ when it does. I really want it to run at a solid 60fps and I'm done everything I can to make it do so, even trying all the settings at lowest possible. Nothing works.

Is there anything in particular that might help? Is there anything else that I can try, or should I just wait another 2-3 years and hope by then modern hardware will be able to outpace this game's horrible port?

are you able to maintain a solid 60 during the batmobile gameplay sections too? the benchmark doesn't really include that for some reason

More specifically don't use Kaladiens old tool because HE specifically said not to anymore! The only reason he leaves it available is for archival purposes.

use Geforce Experience and hit optimize. Set Vsync to off and max fps to 90 and from the Nvidia control panel set vsync to on or fast.

Meh. GFE is optional. It's a good starting point, but there's no reason one cannot configure manually on their own from there. I personally prefer to leave Vsync to "Adaptive", but if you want 60 fps specifically then it depends on your monitor. IF you have a 60hz monitor then turn vsync ON, if you have a 120Hz monitor set the refresh rate to 120hz in windows then set NVIDIA control panel to HALF refresh. for 144hz set it to 120hz in windows and do the same.
Yep, people need to not be trying to use that tool. It is not designed for the current version of the game, and it will not help anything.

I had constant 60fps on max settings (1080p) when I played this (6700k, 32GB, 980ti at the time - I have a 1080ti now but I haven't played the game since I got it). I have an SSD but I have never had the game installed on it, I did a test at one point and it made zero difference.

Ryzen 3 1200+ gtx 1050ti +16gb ram aren't the "PUBG 101 deal" but it blows my mind they had focus on dlc and not on quality andso I won't be able to run this game at "medium"

you can safely say every game's support will end within 1 month after their last dlc release...

It's the same thing like ac:unity, or nier automata, or other non "game as a service" games.

what should i change? I set the max fps to 120 and that's helped some but no matter what I do I can't seem to get the batmobile gameplay to hold over 30fps

If it's just the batmobile (or other scenes with fast transitions) it really could be the cpu. The specs recommend something a bit newer and it could be they never optimized for a 2011 processor. Obviously changing the CPU is a big deal, but you could try returning to the game when you have a newer PC.

I ran on a 3770K and saw the performance dip when racing around in the Batmobile. I saw dips to around 40ish but the rest of the game was a pretty solid 60. The issue was driving through the city, it was perfectly fine on the tracks. I'd assume an issue with asset streaming. Enhanced smoke was also a killer for me on my 970, in some spots that really tanked my FPS.

I assume you are running a Z68 chipset - you might be seeing issues there with bus speeds, memory speeds etc. You could try running some monitoring software during play to see if a core of your CPU is hitting 100% - if it is that would indicate a CPU bottleneck. OpenHardwareMonitor is a good one.

Delete Kal's tool, delete your config files and verify the game cache, this will get a clean set of config files that won't have been tweaked by Kal's tool. You should be able to run this game fine at 1080p60, set everything to max, turn V-Sync off, set fps cap to 60 and turn all GameWorks stuff off.
