Confusion between Robin and Nightwing

Can someone please explain Robin and Nightwing to me, please?

From what I've gathered from in-game info is Batman's partner D. Grayson was Robin but later becomes Nightwing and Tim Drake later becomes new Robin.

What I don't understand is which one is Barbara's love interest? Both seem concerned about her. But I think new Robin is her boyfriend? Was she never in a relationship with Nightwing / initial Robin? Mind you I haven't finished the game yet and I'm confused.

In Batgirl comics the new 52 she seems to be in love with Nightwing but in the game its with new Robin.

Please explain.

I've finished the Nightwing and Robin DLCs so I heard Batgirl and new Robin are getting married.

That's what really confused me. Isn't Batgirl's boyfriend D. Grayson, aka Nightwing? He was in some of the comics and other games so how come it's Tim suddenly?

Well dont be confused, there are a bunch of different Batman universes and Arkham Knight is not directly connected to any of the comics. The Arkham Trilogy is its own universe.

Grayson was the first Robin, now Nightwing.
Jason Todd was the second Robin.
And Tim is the current third Robin in Arkham Knight and into Barbara.

In Arkham Knight Nightwing and Barbara are only friends.

If you listened to the Arkham Knight recordings, Jason Todd actually cares about Barbara and threatened anyone who was going to hurt her. And he was the second Robin, so, it's safe to assume that they all knew Batgirl and had a pretty close relationship, although Tim was more into it.

In most of the comics, Barbara hooks up with ♥♥♥♥ Grayson/Nightwing. But Arkham Knight is a separate continuity from the comics. In this universe she hooks up with Tim. Although she is friends with the other 2 Robins.
