Batman™: Arkham Knight

Game looks crazy, unplayable, AMD Radeon 6870 HD, Help!
I'm running an AMD Radeon 6870 HD, 2gb RAM, Windows 10 64-bit all graphics settings set to lowest, the green bar shows like 1980 out of 2020 for RAM usage. All settings on lowest and tried every variety of framerate, anti-aliasing, etc. The game looks like one huge graphics glitch, shapes and colors and textures are all distorted. Is there a fix for this? My drivers are up to date and the only fix I've heard about was rolling them back to 14.12 but the driver site said those only work on Windows 7 and 8. I'm not super tech savvy but any help is appreciated!

2gb RAM

You need way more RAM to be able to play this game. On Windows 10 you'll need at least 12GB for the game to be playable without any issues.

If you're not willing/able to upgrade your PC, I'd suggest getting a refund if you still can.

The last driver for windows 10 which supports the HD 6000 Series is 15.7.1/16.2.1 Beta. You should try one of those. The newer drivers don´t support the HD 6000 Series anymore. But tbh. The 6870 is below the Minimum requirements (minimum 7870) and could probably be too weak for this Game. Doubt that you would get a better performance with another driver.

Windows alone needs 2GB or ram, this is probably 2GB of VRAM.
Yes, I meant 2GB ram on the video card itself. Like I said it showed green in the bar in the graphics settings option of the game, even if close to maxed out. The driver listed in the AMD Catalyst control center is 15.201.1151.1008-151104a-296217E and says it is up to date. How do I access the 15.7.1 / 16.2.1 beta? I'll google after I type this and see if I can find a way but again, any help is greatly appreciated.
I'll give it a shot from the link above. Would this beta potentially mess up or ruin the quality of other games?

save a copy of the current and previous version of drivers to a flash drive in case the beta goes side ways. If it does, boot into safe mode and replace the drivers. This isn't likely though.
Downloaded newest beta drivers and restarted, same result. Going to try and post a link of what I'm seeing. If the link works that is Batman in the inital position at the start of the game perched on the tower. Running out of ideas here. Planning on getting a new video card but would love a fix for the moment. No graphic distortion on my laptop but it runs at a lower FPS.

The new AMD 480s are cheap, but you get what you pay for. AMDs new lineup is coming soon or you can get a decent 1060 or 1070 from Nvidia.
I know it's probably a debate trigger, but is Nvidia better overall for pc gaming? I can't remember which game it was but there was one I didn't buy because literally it said you couldn't play it if it had one or the other. Dying Light maybe? I dunno, but any help on a fix so I can play this on my desktop would be awesome.
to compare GPUs side by side, www.gpuboss.com

DX12 allows you to use Nvidia and AMD side by side.

That aside, any idea what could be causing that amount of graphic distortion on than "the current generation video card has problems with a lot of games for no apparent reason"?

Who says the AMD Radeon 6870 HD is current gen? It's several behind. It was released about 6-7 years ago.
Yeah that was bad wording on my part. I know it's olD with a capital D, but literally everything else up to this game had no distortion like this. Maybe slower fps, or maybe I had to lower the settings, or maybe a hitching issue, but nothing like this. I'm assuming at this point it's literally a compatibility issue unless someone has seen, and resolved this.

The GPU is so old that AMD stopped driver support for it. The minimum for the game was adjusted after launch to an HD 7870 because everything HD 7600 and below were no longer supported by AMD.
The age of the card means that it runs into issues using today's software. There's nothing you can do to fix this glitching. Every person I've seen trying to use 6000 series cards have the same problems (6950, 6500 cards, you name it).

Get a 470/480 or a 1060/1070.
