However Origins was 3rd in release after Asylum and City. If you play Knight first, you will not follow the story properly and it may not make much sense. You can skip Origins and do just fine, but Origins has some pretty good boss fights.
Arkham Asylum
Arkham City
Arkham Knight
Arkham Origin at any time but better not before Arkham Asylum. Asylum is simplier to start among them all.
As we say in the zillion other threads this has already been asked in, play in release order only.
Origins and City after that, doesn't really matter what order. Neither Asylum nor City reference Origins because Origins came out after them, and since it's a prequel, Origins doesn't reference them either. The only reason to play it after Asylum is due to game mechanics, most noteably the much smaller map in Asylum. Origins should be played prior to Knight though because Knight references it quite a bit, even in the opening sequence with Owens where it references Anarky (who is only in Origins).
Then Knight.
