How many hours to finish this game?
Just curious, how long does it take to finish this game if you just stick to the story? It's currently showing the story at 9% progress.

I'm working on finishing a long list of my unfinished steam games (got a long way to go)

It took me about 65 hours to 100% the main campaign (with all Riddler trophies), though I took my time.

104 hours to 240% the game. That's main story including riddler trophies and DLC missions then NG+.

You could finish it within 20 hours (depending on how fast you generally are / sticking to story only).

Does it force you to grind to get further in the campaign? Ie get better skills etc

Not that I was aware of, but it does make it easier of course.

You will have to go to GCPD to locate a specific gadget later on. It is best to upgrade as you get points for completing objectives.

unlike previous batman games, killing random enemies doesn't give you any XP. The only way to get XP is to complete missions and side-objectives. In that regard, yes you need to "grind." But it's a lot better than Arkham Asylum and running around each map as you run through it making sure to kill all the enemies and killing all the plants etc. The great thing about Knight vs City is that Knight explicitly tells you when you should focus on side quests (e.g. "This will take a while, come contact me when you're ready"). So you have an idea of when you should focus on getting as many riddles as you can and clearing up any side-quests you can get (some you won't be able to until later, especially the riddler ones).

You can get the vast majority of your upgrades without doing any of the challenges, as long as you pay attention to what you are upgrading and think ahead a bit (thats what I did on my first playthrough).

I've completed the game 7 times including game plus at least once and with all missions done along with the addon missions for a 120% completion and take a look at my hours played. It takes less and less time each time I do it. For just the base story without all the side stuff you are probably looking around 15 hours max, just remember there are two endings based on doing everything vs.only the base story.

If you do grind out the side stuff you get more points to increase your skills as well so if you plan ahead it will make things easier. Doing just the basic story though you will need fewer upgrades compared to doing all the side missions.

HowLongToBeat says 15.5 hrs main story, 28 hrs main + extra, and 45.5 hrs completionist. Of course if you have all the DLC though, it will be much longer.

12-15 hours for the campaign alone. Add another 10 hours for the simple side quests. I can't even fathom how long the Riddler stuff takes. It's easily a 30-40 hour game on the first round while staying focused on the objective and not messing around. There are incentives to play NG+.

I usually can beat games under the average time of completion, but this game is no joke when it comes to value. You definitely get your money's worth.
