How I fixed my Black Screen in KOTOR2 on PC
TL:DR I loaded an earlier save, completed the other quests on Dantooine, obtained an NPC companion that was required to proceed in the story, and that solved my Black Screen problem.

If you're like me, you scoured the interwebs trying to find a way to fix your Black Screen of Death. You know, the one where you can hear your surroundings, pause the game, activate and see the menu, and see the mouse cursor?

I had the Remastered Content mod (latest version) and M4-78 only. Up-to-date driver for my GTX 970. I didn't have much luck finding my fix. I tried them all. I enabled windowed mode. I disabled movies. I changed my video settings. I uninstalled all mods. None of them worked. I kept hanging up at the same place.

I was at Dantooine, Master Vrook was the second to last Jedi Master on my list, but I had several quests in my Journal, including exploring the sublevels of the Enclave (I had the Administrator of Khoonda's approval to go in). When I first arrived at the Jedi Enclave, I went Left, and through the doors that opened in the cutscene, not knowing that would eventually end my stay on Dantooine. Kreia stays behind, and I face Master Vrook and Master Ell. They die, Kreia yaps on and on, but no matter what, says she's disappointed in you blah blah blah, and stabs her saber through her own chest. I wake up, crew members talking to me in my head. Ok, one way to get out of this area, as there's nothing else to do in this part. Zone out, automatic cutscene to me running through the Ebon Hawk to the cockpit, where Atton is hunched over on the floor. Dialogue. Ebon Hawk lifts off, enters hyperspace... Black Screen.

Over and over and over again. I could save the game, and reload, and I appeared standing in Kreia's chambers, and the Ebon Hawk was completely empty, not even a workbench or HK-47 in sight. Only Atton. He's standing upright in the cockpit. I can't access the Galaxy Map. I talk to Atton, and it replays the previous cutscene.

Fortunately, I played this game when it first came out, and knew from that runthrough that while the game was fantastic and fun, it was not perfect. I knew to save often and in different spots, and I loaded up a save before I arrived at the Jedi Enclave.

When I arrived at the Enclave, instead of going Left, I went Right. Essentially, that's what did it. Going Right meant I found Disciple in the sublevel of the Enclave. After I completed all my random quests, I went back in through the Left door. Kreia stays. Vrook and Ell die. Kreia yaps. She tries to kill me. I live. I exit and board Ebon Hawk. Cutscene talking to Atton. Cutscene Ebon Hawk goes to Telos to confront Atris and Kreia. Cutscene where Disciple comes into Kreia's chambers, where I'm knelt in meditation and strikes up a chat! Disciple was needed to push the story arc. Haven't had an issue since.

So, if you find that you're unable to fix your Black Screen with the variety of suggestions you find all over Google, it may just mean you haven't completed a quests, or found a person that is needed to trigger a cutscene or progress your story.

Your issue is that...

Actually, no it wasn't.

It's the only reason why the door was open even if a master was left.
