How to get the TSCM and M478-mods to run with a KoTOR II purchased from a different site?

Hello, so, I purchased Kotor 2 on the mac appstore (I know, boo mac) and i downloaded the TSCM and M478-mods off of steam, but for some reason the droid planet doesn't seem to be working. And i can't tell if the mod is even running in game. The restored content seems to be working as there are added cutscenes and dialogue that isn't in the normal game, but when i went to Korriban, I find the dead Jedi Master Vash's body, but it's my understanding that in the m4-78 mod that shouldn't happen. is it too late to go to the droid planet/ how do I even know if the mod is installed with my game?
