Mod DB a safe site?

Im nervous about installing the mod for fear of getting a virus.

It is a safe site. Used it for many mods.

I can confirm this. Some of my favorite mods are on ModDB (like GoldenEye Source).

Gamefront is where the files are uploaded to is it not? ModDB is just a database not a host for all the files.

A word of advice if you want to download mods for games, try not to be so paranoid and question every little thing on these sites.

If you login with your SteamiD (right next to the login at top left) you can download directly through ModDB.

Well, if it's another site, definitely make sure it's 1.8.1 and not an older version.

I don't think there's anything wrong with being extra cautious before downloading something (especially an exe file) from a site you haven't been to before. If something seems unusual, I'd say it's better to ask questions and understand what's going on then to dive in without doing some research :)

I'm glad that Wrench was asking questions because I was curious as well.

I got my mods on Moddb. It is safe and one of the coolest pages to get mods of every kind.
