Black screen after Lucas Arts logo

I absolutly loved this game on Xbox, but i cant get it to work on the PC, im running Windows 8. Everytime i try to load it up it starts the usual load up screens, after the Lucas Arts logo it goes black and crashes, how do i fix this?

Yeah I'm running Windows 7, and it does it with me also.
The fix is simple, but annoying. You have to press your key with the Windows logo on it, in order to return to Windows. Then click on your active KOTOR II icon in the taskbar again, and it'll return to the game. You should see the game restored then, with everything seen that you should see.

It may also do the black screen thingy after a FMV cutscene (like the one where you see Nihilus and Visas Marr on their cruiser once you get strong in the force) which you unlock at points in the game, so you have to repeat the process to get the picture back :/

I tried this, but it didnt work for me, i pressed the windows key at and before the black screen

mine just goes back 2 the lucas arts logo when i do it then it says starwars kotor has stoped working PLEASE HELP

Well, i had the game on disc, and it did the same thing. I look at the specs and it says which graphics were used at the time the game was created. Intel not being one of them. So i though, "hey ill download it from steam, and it should be updated to use Intel graphics." That wasnt the case, because it is doing the same thing as it was before. So the problem may lie in your graphics card.

My graphics card can run games like bioshock and just cause 2, im pretty sure it can handle Star Wars KOTOR

Anyone have a fix for this? Suddenly having this issue as well.

Changing the swkotor2.ini file worked for me. Navigate to the folder by going to Library> clicking on Properties on SWTOR2>Local files>Browse local files. Open the swkotor2.ini file. I changed fullscreen to 0, width to 1920, height to 1080. Start Kotor and it will probably flash a few times while the movies keep bouncing the resolution around at super low settings.
