Help with over heating problems

I just installed the restored content mod I would like to play this again but I have a problem with over heating is there a button I can press to minimize the game so my computer has chance to cooldown instead of quiting out of the game completly I dont want to hear "you need a new computer" I have windows 7 please help

It could be several things causing it. Do you know which part of your computer is overheating? The best general solution I can offer without further specifications of your computer is to update your drivers. A lot of times they'll go in and fix bugs they find after they send out the final release of your hardware drivers.

Only thing I can think of (if you have a relatively good PC) is turning V-Sync on (force it through graphics control panel and/or in-game), so your PC doesn't work overtime making as many frames as it can, for this game.

thanks for all your help I have lowered some graphics settings which has helped with the over heat problem

If you have a PC the best you can really do is install a new cooler/ventilator in your PC.
Of course if you have a laptop, that gets more complicated...
