Product Key
I have this game from a long time ago. I would I find a product key so I can add it to my steam, and not have to worry about the disks. The game came out without needed a "key". And I know steam allows this type of addition. But, I need a key. Would it be embeded on the disk? If so, how would I find it?
Thanks in advance.

Most retail games cannot be activated on Steam (aside from a few noticeable exceptions).

You are right though: the Steam release is perhaps the best version of the game due to the easy install and the patches already being applied to it from the get-go.

I'm afraid you'll have to buy the games on Steam as that is the only way to get them. Just wait for a sale though (Halloween or the upcoming Winter sale).

If steam doesn't have the "exact" game, it wont work. Like I have a copy of Age of Empires 3, and steam has AoE 3 gold edition(or something), and it wont let me use my key, because its not the exact game. With KOTOR2, its the exact game, but the retail version didnt have a key you had to put in. Im guessing that THIS game isn't going to work.
One of my disks doesnt work anymore, I was hoping on getting to just add it to my library with steam. Oh well...
Thanks for the reply!

You're probably not going to like to hear this but meh, you probably already made your peace with it OP :)

I had a boxed version of this game and it in fact had the key (on the back of the manual I think). But that's not really the issue here. Thing is, even having a cd-key doesn't automatically mean that it's redeemable on Steam. Versions or exact same games are not that relevant; what matters is whether that game is Steamworks enabled and even that doesn't guarantee it will be redeemable on Steam :)
There is only a handful of games that can be redeemed via cd-keys that were on the box of the retail version. It's not the other way around; that you can redeem any cd-key here with few exceptions. It is the opposite.

Sadly I too had quite a lot of cd-keys I wanted to redeem here, only to find out it's not possible, so I know the feel OP, I feel for you :/ Cheers
