Ah, I had a feeling that was the case. Thanks for the confirmation. That sucks, I had over 12 hours into that game, but I don't have any saves old enough to undo that. So, I started a new game. I guess it's a good thing I love this game. ;)
I decided to play as a female this time. At least I won't have to worry about that specific issue happening in my new game. (besides, I want the achievemnt for getting the Desciple as a companion)
Yeah, with Female, you won't have any issue at all at least. I did read that if you gained enough influence back with Handmaiden, you can get her to talk again with you. I didn't manage to test that out so I don't know if that works or not.
Well, I do stil have a manual save of that game, so I can always go back later and see if that's true. I know a couple places on Nar Shadaa where you for sure get influence with her.
Yeah Nar Shaddaa is the place I intended to do it but never got around to do it and stopped playing after this happened.
I'm sure this is how it was supposed to always work, but it wasn't this way in the game as released by Obsidian. To be honest, I always found it a little odd that you could get "cozy" with both Handmaiden and Visas and neither seemed to care. The mod makes it how it really should be. It's like Mass Effect, where you have a couple of romance options and you have to eventually choose one.
As for the "get enough inf and you can undo it", that's false.
Good to know that I didn't waste my time trying to undo it. Thanks for that bit of info.
I Played the TSLRCM as a Jedi Consular and I had NO problem gaining influence with Handmaiden and didn't have this problem.
However, my second playthrough I ran into this issue because none of the proper gain influence dialogue options gained any influence. Also, influence spots in the game with Handmaiden didn't work either. I gained no influence or lost influence if I reloaded and did a negative action with handmaid. It's as if both were gain and loss influence were broken an wouldn't worked either way.
Like I said, this didn't happen in the first playthrough. I was wondering if talking to Handmaiden at the telos academy before she was in the party caused this?
I doubt the conversation with her BEFORE she joins... has anything to do with it. And, while you could be experiencing a 'bug' to your game install, the issue might just be your dialogue choices. Unless you are certain you are using the same choice as the last time you played (where you did get influence) it maybe that you are just choosing a dialogue that is 'Neutral' when it comes to 'influence' gain / loss. Also, Handmaiden's 'influence' is usually obtained by doing training with her... along with making correct responses.
